Hello everyone!
I am having a very important and very annoying problem. On my laptop (with a Windows 7 64-bit operating system) I cannot, even after installing all of the updates, get the [FIRST] button at the top to appear. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing twice now. I know that the packages should be working, because I installed the packages on another teammate's laptop, and it worked just fine. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Travis

Thanks,
TravisJust to be thorough, you're following the 64-bit instructions and installing WindRiver 3.1 and WindRiver 3.3 right? And you're starting 3.3?

Yes I am. I have followed the instructions just like my mentor has told me to, and I am opening the Windriver 3.3. My mentors are very confused as well as why this is happening on my laptop. (An additional piece that I don't know if it is important is that we are installing everything off of .iso files)
Thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, how was he able to fix the toolbar not showing up? I'm currently having the same problem.

The FIRST button in the toolbar ribbon appears after installing the WPILib 2014 C++ update (aka Workbench update) available from http://first.wpi.edu/FRC/c/update/Release/.
Make sure to:
1. Close WB before running the installer/update
2. Ensure the Wind River Registry is no longer running (check the available icons in the Windows system tray and ensure the Wind River Registry is set to appear.)
3. Then run the update.

I have tried installing the workbench update after installing Windriver and making sure that the registry is not running and the FIRST toolbar is not appearing. I have all of the other files such as the WPILib files and the vision examples from this year but the FIRST Toolbar is not appearing.

Okay, the problem that I was having was with the last updater (for Windriver) was with the update tool, when it was copying over the files, the text on screen was zipping by so fast that you couldn't even read it! So what had happened on my computer was that the System PATH variable was missing/messed up, so I will also show you here how to fix that problem (Windows 7 only).
1) Open the [Start] menu, right click on [Computer], and choose [Properties] (at the bottom of the drop down list)
2) Click on [Advanced system settings] on the left (if you are prompted to enter your administrative password, do so now)
3) Click on [Environment Variables...]
4) Scroll down under the section labeled "System variables" until you see [PATH] under the Variable heading.
5) If [PATH] is not there, you need to click on [New...]
1. Set the Variable Name as PATH, and set the Variable Value as the value shown at the bottom of this post.
6) If [PATH] is there, then you need to click on [PATH] and then [Edit...].
1. Add a semicolon [;] to the end of what you have in the Variable Value, and paste the value at the bottom of this post to the end of what you already have in the Variable value field.
7) Click Ok until you are back to the [System] screen, then press the X.
8) Run the Updater again (the last thing to do after the 1 or 2 discs). If the text doesn't zip by in 5 seconds, you are good. If it does, continue asking for help on ChiefDelphi.
Variable value is all of the following (until the return):
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\Sy stem32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShel l\v1.0\;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_27\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\IVI Foundation\VISA\WinNT\Bin\;C:\Program Files\IVI Foundation\VISA\Win64\Bin\;C:\Program Files (x86)\IVI Foundation\VISA\WinNT\Bin;
[*NOTE* I found out how to do this from a previous team member who is now in college. I could maybe ask him for some more help, but it isn't guaranteed.]
