The following criteria define POSSESSION :
A. “carrying” (moving while supporting BALLS in or on the ROBOT),
B. “herding” (repeated pushing or bumping),
C. “launching” (impelling BALLS to a desired location or direction), and
D. “trapping” (overt isolation or holding one or more BALLS against a FIELD element or ROBOT in an attempt to
shield them).

How will assists be scored?
Can we deflect a ball through "herding" if we touch it twice (hockey)?
Should we "trap" it (soccer)?

How will the determination of which zone the robot is in be made?
There is clearly a delineation of the red, white, and blue zones, but the 1, 2, and 3?

Are we using RFID's and a position location system?
Truss throw, but the catch?
Load cell malfunctions and volunteer counting of frisbee's last year.
FMS nightmare?
Will they use astute volunteers like they did when they counted the moon rocks scored in Lunacy? (Which also had a post match verification count)
Booth review?

I think that for real time scoring and the assist count indicator lights around the goals, this will be an issue.

Are you referring to the 1,2,3 from figure 3-4? If so those are robot numbers not zones...

Okay, my bad, thank you, but I am still curious as to how the assist will be determined as far a possession is concerned.

I'm curious about assists as well, specifically how controlled/prolonged does my bumping have to be to be considered herding? Unfortunately we'll probably have to wait until the competitions to find out.
