Hey,

I'm trying to configure the D-Link with FRC Bridge Configuration Utility. I'm running it in Windows 8, in Windows 7 compatibility. If I go through the browser, I can access the D-link's page and settings.

I'm getting the following error:

"Bridge Configuration failed: Failed to change IP Address. Please ensure the bridge is connected to this computer and try again."

I definitely have the bridge connected with an ethernet cable, and I've tried the two Network Interface Options its giving me: Ethernet and Local Area Connection* 11. I have the D-Link in Access Point (2.4 Ghz) and the correct revision.

Any thoughts on how to get it to work?

Thanks.

The error message is complaining about not having the privileges to change the IP address of your laptop, not the DLink.
The laptop IP address gets changed to be compatible with the DLinks factory default IP when it first tries to talk to the DLink.

Run the tool as Administrator.

Thanks for you help. We tried that, but that still didn't work.

In desperation, we disabled the WiFi on the laptop, and then ran the utility. That made it work, for reasons mysterious to us.

Anyway, it works! On to other things.
