I see that the gearbox in the robot in three days video is from ir3 creative, but I can't seem to figure out where the "dog gear" is. Is this something that they made custom? or is it somewhere on the website that I don't see?
Thanks!
The dog gear was from an Andymark shifter.
I believe it had been modified slightly so it was shorter overall.
Dan or Andrew will have to weigh in with specifics.

We did modify some of our shifter parts but we have since redesigned it slightly to package standard COTS parts.
The cad model with BOM for that gearbox is here: http://www.robotin3days.com/ri3d-1-0-winch-shift-to-neutral-ratcheting-gearbox/

What we did for our prototype is cut a hole in the spacer and put a ratcheting wrench around the shaft, then remove the smaller gear from the shifting mechanism. It was a quick and easy modification and I believe they did the same.
Edit-we did this in the super shifter.

Dan,
What's the difference between the Modulox Shifter Shaft and the Long SS Hex Shaft that AndyMark currently sells?
Just from looking at the CAD of the gearbox the two looked more or less interchangeable.

I may need to do a deeper dive but I believe the major difference is that the the Long SS Hex Shaft is missing the bore and slot to shift the dog. I believe in the AM shifters these features are incorporated in a cluster shaft.
We are currently designing a winch system to draw back and release our catapult and I am intrigued by the lunchbox. A few questions about your Ri3D robot...how many pounds of force did it take to draw the catapult back? We need about 50-75 lbs or force at about 22 inches from the catapult's pivot point and I am curious as to how well this transmission will perform. We started designing for a WCP 2 speed transmission but later determined that it was not the best one to use.
Thanks, Keegan

I apologize, I was incorrect. The only difference that I can tell is that the hex portion, and the 3/8" round version of ours are slightly longer. If it were just the hex it would be interchangeable but the 3/8" in the Long SS Hex Shaft round would fall short of the bearing.

Thanks Dan, I'm glad you cleared that up.

Is there an updated BOM for with the other link that was "tbd"?

Looks like its the site has the shaft as part number AM-2777 and they have a kit listed under AM-2774.
It doesn't look like there is an order page for the shaft. If you're trying to place an order maybe you can call and have them add the shaft to it.
