Where can I buy a spring coil? My team requires a spring coil that will be able to provide enough torque to propel the 2014 FRC Game piece off a catapult.

Vulcan Springs donated 3 flat force springs of any size to all FRC teams. I would recommend that you start there.

Is this what you are looking for? McMaster is a great place to go looking for raw materials that your local hardware store might not carry. Surgical tubing is also a great way to utilize stored energy.

We just got two of the 2" wide 40lb constant force springs from McMaster Carr. All I will say is exercise caution and I would recommend starting with the 20lb springs making sure you can mount the 40lb ones later if you need. Also if you use the 40lb springs the two holes are clearance for 1/4-20 bolts and their centers are .625" from each edge.
