Your first post has only been up for 7 minutes, give people some time to answer and I'm sure someone could help out. Good luck finding a team! :D

Did you look in the "members" link in the orange bar to see if there's anyone from that team on CD? Then you could PM them.
I have had no prior contact with this team, but I have found the email address of their program coordinator on their website and PMed it to you. Good luck!
[EDIT]: Also, this link: http://goldinitiative.org/contact-us/ should help you as well.

A list of participants for the Los Angeles Regional might be a good place to find some teams in that area.

I'm assuming that your school doesn't have a FIRST team, why not start one? Talk with your pricipal/dean/etc about how you can go about doing so, I'm too lazy to look up how to, but I remember there was a page about starting a team somewhere on FIRST's Website (usfirst.org)
If it's such a big desire, consider switching schools to be on a team? Eh, I guess not, but definitely search for members or any non-school teams here on CD.
Google is your friend!
A majority of teams have websites, most of which should have "Contact us" or similiar areas.
Best of luck.
