View Full Version : How Does one Program (and also wire) a Denso Window Motor?

We've got these denso window motors that we don't have plugs to ( :deadhorse: ). It seems like a lot of people don't. Anyways, I'm looking for a way to wire those into the power board. I'm also wondering: How are these programmed? Should I use a 'SPIKE motor controller' to control whether or not it's spinning one way or the other?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

We don't usually have clips for them either--we typically solder spade terminals onto the metal tabs to make our connections. As for the controllers, it depends on what you want to do with them. If your application only relies on the motor spinning at full speed in a certain direction, then you should use SPIKE relays. If you need speed control, use Victors, Jaguars, or Talons.

Oh man, that's so simple! I can't believe it didn't even cross my mind. For some reason I thought these motors would be an entirely different beast to tame. Thank you so much!

As for the wiring I think we can handle that. Does it matter which side of the motor we put the + and - ends of the wire into?

Keep in mind, one of the nice things about these motors is that they spin relatively slow, so it is easy to use them without the need for speed control - through a Spike. And you can switch their direction via programming when wired this way.

We use female terminals that fit over the male terminals in the connector. Then we fill the entire connector with quick-set epoxy (hot glue works in a pinch).

I'll tell you who does: anyone who got them through FIRSTChoice. http://www.firstchoicebyandymark.com/en/fc14-181
