Alright Teams, we know that there are 2 more weeks of build, AND 6 weeks of District Qualifiers before we find out who is attending the big New England Event, but WHO's EXCITED?!?!

Come Join us on April 10-12th to see the excitement of the New England Championship Event at Boston University's Agganis Arena!!

This Email went out to Teams Today:

Hello Teams!!

We hope you are all doing well as you work through Week 4 of Build Season, and that you are coming up with some great robots for Aerial Assist!!

We just wanted to take a moment to send you some updates on the New England Championship Event! As you all know, 53 New England Teams will qualify for the New England Championship in Boston and a shot at moving on to the World Championship in St Louis. While many of you are focused on your robots and the 9 upcoming District Qualifier events, we wanted to make sure you are considering a trip to the New England Championship in your plans!! Here are some details we don't want you to miss!

New Features!!
Back in the Fall we sent out a Survey asking what the teams liked and wanted to see at the NE CMP event. As a result of that and some of our committee's ideas we have worked hard on many new features. Check out the attached document for details!

Volunteers!!
We are still in need of plenty of volunteers to help staff our event. While we know that many of you do not know if your team will be attending yet, consider having some of your non-critical team members volunteer for our event (we prefer not to have volunteers sign up that will have to drop out if their team qualifies) and come join the excitement!
Spread the word & Sign up in VIMS today (https://my.usfirst.org/FIRSTPortal/Login/VIMS_Login.aspx)!

Connect with Us!!
Keep an Eye on our Event Webpage (http://www.nefirst.org/portfolio/nedcmp/) for Details & Updates
Subscribe to our Twitter Feed (https://twitter.com/NEFIRSTCMP)
Register for our Facebook Event (https://www.facebook.com/events/714681768549749/?source=1)

Charity Drive!!
This year the NE CMP is kicking off a District-Wide Charity Drive to collect New Toys for the Boston Children's Hospital. Currently Collections will be hosted at the Hartford, Rhode Island, Northeastern, Granite State, and Pine Tree District Events, in addition to the collection at the New England Championship. Stay tuned for more details!!

Alumni & Seniors!!
Is your team still in touch with your Alumni? How about those Seniors that are about to become FIRST Alumni?? The NECMP will be hosting an Alumni Lunch for All New England Alumni & Seniors on Friday. Have them register for the NE FIRST Alumni Network (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHVmV29oVVl1YkxDaVdUWmtQZlEtZ2c6M Q) to receive more information.

Thinking Ahead??
If your team is thinking ahead to the New England Championship, there are a few things we want you to know to assist in your planning.
- Steele Meetings has blocked off Hotel Rooms (https://www.firstchampionshiphousing.com/Regionals.aspx) for Teams & Volunteers
- Our event is a THREE DAY event (http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Robotics_Programs/FRC/Events/2014/2014_NECMP_Agenda.pdf), Qualification Matches start on Thursday Afternoon!
- Team Load-In will be Wednesday 6-8pm, this is the ONLY time you can use our Loading Dock (other options will be detailed in our Welcome Packet).

Whew that was a lot of information!! If you made it all the way through, thank you for your time! Good luck with the rest of build season, and we will stay in touch!! Feel free to contact us with event specific questions at <necmp at nefirst.org>. For general district information, qualification details, etc, please contact <info at nefirst.org>.

Happy Build Season!

Mark your calendars! We will be holding a team social event at the Museum of Science on Friday, April 11. Come join your fellow FIRSTers for more science, math, engineering, and fun.

Tickets will be free to teams. These tickets will give you access to the full museum, from right after the awards ceremony until museum closing at 9:30pm.

Food will be available for purchase at the museum - they will have the museum grill open for made-to-order food until 8pm, as well as grab-and-go sandwiches/salads and the museum cafe open until 9:30.

Ticket reservations will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Be prepared to get your tickets once reservations are opened! We will share the ticket reservation form with team contacts by email, as well as here on Chief Delphi and on the NE FIRST Facebook page.

HEY KIM!
Nice job with the info so far. I like the idea of a team storage area. I wanted to do the same, but couldn't figure out how or where to do it. I'll scope it out when (if) we get there.

Question about the parking. It says "special" arrangements are made for busses. Is that a special "free" arrangement for a team bus?

Thanks in advance--and can you do something to, you know, make sure we get in?

Oh, did I say that out loud?

*NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP DISPLAYS*

We plan to have TV displays featuring all of the New England Dean’s List nominees and Chairman’s Award submitters, and we would love for your nominees and team to be among those featured!

Each display will be showing a video in the format of a PowerPoint presentation containing 1 slide (or 2 in the case of teams submitting 2 Dean’s List nominees) for each team. To make things easy for teams, we have created templates for each display:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B4JlctQyQ-WMQ3JWX1lmVU5TZ1E&usp=sharing

Can your team take 10-15 minutes to fill them out before Thursday, April 3? We've gotten responses from about 15 teams, we would like to see even more! Once filled out, please e-mail them to me at lisaperez [at] gmail [dot] com. These submissions will be kept private until the Thursday of competition.

We are looking forward to seeing your submissions!

Cannot wait for this event. Wish this sort of thing existed when I was a student. Competition is going to be top notch and I'm looking forward to watching 3467 compete with everyone on the field, as well as off the field. .Nothing gets me more amped up for something than knowing we are competing against the best of the best. So proud of everything my students have accomplished this year so far. Good luck to all teams, let's make this magical!

I'm super excited for Agganis Arena Champs!

Although, I did have a question I'm not sure can be answered here :x

For Dean's List nominated students whose teams did not make it to District Champs, what should we do?

We definitely want to volunteer, but we don't think our school will let us miss days unless we need to or are suggested to be there.

Any ideas?

I believe the award for deans list isn't given out until Saturday, so you wouldn't have to be there Thursday or Friday anyways since interviews were at district events.

This is correct, Deans List will be given out on Saturday afternoon. While we currently have enough volunteers for saturday, you can always check in with us that day to see if we need any more. Plus we have a whole ton of stuff you can do - check out the awesome robotics companies, our merchandise vendor, bring items for our charity drive, interact with our sponsors, talk to other teams, etc.

In fact, if the Deans List students wanted to do some sort of get together on Saturday, we could probably even help set up a location/announce it.

Is there any overnight parking for team cargo trailers after unloading?

So BU looked into this for us and this is what they came up with. Unfortunately they could not find anything free (this lot is $24/night), but its something:
Based on several inquiries, we have made arrangements for this. If a team wishes to leave their vehicle overnight, we have made this available in the lot at 808 Commonwealth Ave. Lot F. Please see following link for reference. http://www.agganisarena.com/directions/parking.html

Similar question, but modified:
Our bus is just dropping us off. Could we use the bus parking allocation for our truck/trailer?
Unfortunately no. This lot will be for busses and large trucks only. You can use the onsite C2 Lot behind the parking garage if your vehicle/trailer will fit in two spaces, but you will be charged for two spaces ($30/day) or you can use the offiste lot mentioned above.

This email was just sent to main & alternate team contacts:

New England Teams,
This is it! Today the New England Rankings are solidified and FIRST will be sending out official invitiations to the Main Team Contacts.

We have some big announcements for the New England Championship.

New Agenda!
FIRST has posted a new agenda (http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Robotics_Programs/FRC/Events/2014/2014_NECMP_Agenda.pdf) for our event.
The two biggest changes were made to give teams more time and make the event safer and less hectic. The first is Load In Wednesday night has been extended in time (now from 5-9pm) and teams will be able to set up their pits, unbag and get their robot inspected if they wish. Teams are still restricted to 5 members per team, but we hope this additional time will make it easier for everyone to start qualifications on Thursday.
The second is that we have moved Opening Ceremonies on Friday and Saturday to 9:00am.

New Welcome Packet
Based on the agenda update, and some updates for some parking questions we have received, we have posted a new welcome packet (http://www.nefirst.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/2014-NECMP-FIRST-Welcome-Packet.pdf). Make sure you have Version 2.0!

Don't forget to check out the NE FIRST Rankings Announcement and Live Commentary (http://www.nefirst.org/2014/04/03/live-from-pine-tree-the-ne-first-selection-show/) following the Pine Tree Awards!!

We look forward to seeing you next week!

The Welcome Packet has the following in a blue box on Page 13:

Caution:
Teams cannot register on April 10th without a completed form for
each team member attending the event, including adults traveling
with the team. Persons under 18 years of age must have a parent
or legal guardian’s signature. Please contact your regional director
if you need to acquire consent forms.

Is this something different than the standard roster that we usually just print from TIMS? What is meant by these "Consent Forms"? Why do we have to have a form for each person, and why would we need to contact our Regional Director to get them? Are they not available elsewhere? (like on-line?)

If this is the same thing as the TIMS roster, then why not just say so?

(Sorry, but I've been burned by trivialities at Registration far too many times at past events, so I like to make sure I'm prepared.)

My apologies if it is slightly confusing, this wording is left over from the Boston Regional Welcome packet which is what I used to start this document. However, it is still accurate that consent and release forms must be submitted for all team members, it is just that most teams are now doing them electronically. C&R forms are still part of the FIRST manual, please see section 4.7.1 (below). If there are team members that do not submit electronically, they must submit at every event including the NE CMP.

4.7.1 Consent and Release Forms
We highly encourage all FRC team members to submit their Consent and Release forms electronically.

FRC Team Mentors registered in TIMS will submit in TIMS: https://my.usfirst.org/frc/tims/site.lasso. Student team members will submit via the FIRST Student Team Information Member System (STIMS) at: https://my.usfirst.org/stims/site.lasso. Having your team members and mentors submit their Consent and Release forms electronically will make things much easier for you—no excess paperwork to collect and keep track of!

Please note if a team member decides to submit their Consent and Release form electronically, it will cover the team member’s attendance for the entire season – from Kickoff through Championship. However, if a team member chooses to turn in a “hardcopy” of the form (i.e., printed out from the website and signed) he/she will have to provide it at the Kickoff event (if attending) and at every competition. Details on the Consent and Release form process are available here: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/first-student-team-information-members-system-and-consent-form.
Bold Emphasis mine.

But we are more than happy to answer any questions so that teams can make it to & through the event smoothly :)

Oh if things weren't only that not unconfusing!

I found out at Rhode Island that they want a printed roster at each event anyway, even if you turned in the C&R info at a previous District event.

And wouldn't you know, that printed roster is the same thing that you would turn in for supplying the "C&R" documentation at the initial event.

What I will be doing:
Print out the roster of the team from TIMS, include any hardcopy forms for whoever has not completed the online consent/waiver. In other words, the same thing. The worst that can happen is there will be no problem during sign in. I can live with that.

As Pit Admin in Southington, that should be all you need if district Champs work like the District event registration.

You have to print out a TIMS Roster and bring it to each event you attend in order to register, or you wont get your drive pins until you can get a hold of a printed copy. The TIMS roster shows if any students have or haven't filled out their consent forms online. If they havent filled them out online, they need to have hard-copies attached.

Make sure any students not attending on your roster are pointed out as so or just let the Pit Admin know, therefore he/she knows that you don't have to be hunted down for any student's forms, and registration just goes quicker overall.

So far it doesn't look like any. However 190 had mentioned that they were not going, but are still showing up on the list as registered on the FIRST site. So its hard to know for sure if any teams have made it unless they post about it.

Can we work on the robot Wednesday night?
With 5 Team members ONLY, teams will be allowed to Unbag (with inspector signoff), and do what they need to do to get the robot inspected. We will not have the full venue setup (no Machine Shop or Practice Field until Thursday morning), but if teams need to do work to their robots to pass inspection it will be allowed.

The goal for Wednesday night is to get as many teams loaded in, and have pits setup safely so that we can roll on Thursday morning, and allow teams to finish inspection in time for Qualification matches.

New England Teams,
Only a few more days to the Big Event!!

Schedule
We have another small change to our schedule (http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Robotics_Programs/FRC/Events/2014/2014_NECMP_Agenda.pdf) to announce:
Start of Loadin is moved to 5:30pm on Wednesday!!
We apologize for any inconvenience, but we realized that we were going to conflict with the time of staff leaving the venue and want to make it a good experience for both teams and BU staff. (Note: the welcome packet has not been updated yet, but the FIRST Schedule takes precedence).

Invites
Official Invites from FIRST went out this morning to main TIMS contacts, and they are working down the list of teams as they receive declines. If your team is not planning on attending, please let FIRST know ASAP.

Hotels
If your team is still trying to figure out lodging, please contact Steele Meetings directly. Phone: 561-292-3314 email: MSMILGIS-at-steelemeetings.com

Here's a bit of late night data crunching.

Looking at qualifying matches only... I used official district results to get stats on each team's average offensive production, and the twitter feed to get average points allowed (sadly, Nashua and Groton data were not in the twitter feed).

I then compared each of the top 63 (why not?) teams' stats to the average of those 63. Above average offense is a good thing. Allowing fewer points than average per match is a good thing. Doing both is even better!

The resulting "points/game above average" metric suggests how a team contributed in qualification matches compared to the 'average' of all these above-average teams! Of course, the data, measure, and causality are all imperfect...

Still, my top 20:
Team Points/ game above average
195 49.2
3467 36.3
78 33.5
125 30.1
131 28.8
176 27.8
61 26.5
237 24.7
2067 22.1
175 20.5
236 20.1
319 19.8
177 17.0
5122 16.2
4048 15.4
3525 15.0
58 14.6
558 12.8
716 12.3
4564 12.3

Hope that someone else finds this interesting or even helpful! Comments always welcome.

Best of luck to all who earned the opportunity to compete this weekend. Make the most of this great event!

It says that the open capacity is only 3. Does this mean that they are limiting the number of teams attending to 52? I thought that it was 54 teams total.

We are planning for and have space for 54, my guess is that it's just an artifact of the registration/payment/confirmation/decline process.

I'm assuming 6 teams have dropped and some haven't even decided, due to the fact that we were notified that were next up in line for being called off the wait list. (Crossing our fingers, because we already have hotel, transportation, etc. all planned out)

Team 2168 will have a display of the upcoming, 2015-season control system.

Check out the table, with our 2013 robot, Phoenix, retro equipped with it's new controls. General info with facts and FAQs will be on posters at the display.

We are still kind of a small team, so our lead mentor on the Alpha Testing Project will be kept busy with the never-ending task of improving the code on our current robot.

We do plan to have the table staffed when possible, but until we know our match schedule, it's hard to know when exactly that will be.

If you have burning questions, drop by the 2168 Pit and ask for Kevin Harrilal (mentor) or Vittorio (student), our leads in the project.

We will also have a question box for you to drop in your questions when the table is left unstaffed. We will get back to you ASAP.

Best luck to all teams. Dang! Is load-in tomorrow?

4761 checking in!

We have a few robot upgrades since RI and NU :D

2.5 times faster intake roller (installed at NU)
Dump assist belt to make us more compatible with taller robots (We can now dump where a human player typically would)
50% faster arm and basket movements
Hot zone detector (125 style)
Motor support upgrades to even out loads and prevent the jam that hurt us at NU Saturday morning

We look forward to playing with such an excellent field of alliance partners.

Right now it looks like 1099 should make it in (though do not take my word as official!), and also team 663 has informed us that they have dropped out, so I believe that means there is one more slot beyond 1099 to make the 54.

You could say were officially in panic mode. We have everything planned out, but still no invite. It seems like were next and we were even told we were. The hotel is getting impatient with us so we wish we knew today. We were told we will get a call from FIRST tomorrow by 9am. We plan on accepting AND HAVE EVEN UPGRADED THE ROBOT so cross your fingers we get the invite we are hoping for. Thats the only challenge left, and the biggest.

This season's theme song for the disco techs should be the BeeGees Stayin' Alive! I hope your robot upgrade did not involve opening the bag since this is a 3-day event and the open bag rules don't apply.

This is unfortunately something that isn't directly NEFIRST's fault. Last year in MAR, we even had a team dropping out the day of, leading to one less team. With a week 6 event, stuff like this will always happen.

The only thing I'd like to see is extending invitations to mathematical locks (like PNW did)

I believe 348, Norwell Robotics, is next up, followed by 1153, 3499, and 213. However, they could have been invited and declined, I have no idea.

This is actually an HQ issue, as they are the ones that send out the formal invitations. So while this stinks for us, PNW and Michigan (and to somewhat of an extent MAR) are all going through the same thing right now.

With that said, this needs to be improved moving forward. The turnaround times for both DCMP and District Teams going to CMP are way to small.

Perhaps like the FRC Leaderboard website http://www.district.firstwa.org/ (also see this CD thread (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127315))

Not only does FRC Leaderboard show live(ish) status but it's also an awesome educational tool for teams to understand how the district point system works.

The PNW leaderboard is just plain awesome. And according to the website, other districts could be added to it. I love being able to click on any team and see exactly how they earned points at their two events.

Thirty matches in and average points are running in the low 140s, compared to the mid-80s in the district events. Wow! Hats off to everybody for dialing in their 'bots, and I guess this is what happens when everyone team is above average! I really look forward to watching some of the matches!

I am impressed that OPR has picked 22 of 30 winners so far! My plus/minus system is only at 17 of 30, which is close enough to 50/50 to be humbling. And even where the two systems pick the same winner, the OPR almost does as well on its own. Of course, with the better pool of teams and the higher scores, past data is understandably a questionable predictor of future performance!

Congratulations to 716 and the other teams that are strong out of the gate! Hope tomorrow is a great day for all,

Dan H.

That would be cool, because the webcast didn't catch it. I think they blocked the second shot as well.

Been rooting for 177, and their alliance's play has been pretty solid so far. I still can't believe they haven't made champs since that unfortunate Einstein finals in 2011—a team like Bobcat not making champs two years in a row still boggles my mind.

EDIT: See you in St. Louis, 177!

Finally home from an incredibly fun event!

Thanks to our alliance partners 172 and 2067. You guys were so fun to play with and we almost took down that powerhouse 1 seed! Congrats to 2067 for reaching champs, I love your team and am glad to see you qualify.

195, 558, 5122- thanks for some fun matches in quarters! You guys were all great teams and I'd love to play with you all in the future, very gracious teams.

1735- thank you guys so much for the spare mecanum wheels! You guys really saved the event for us. Glad to see you guys win EI!

3467 and 1519- pleasure competing against our Granite State Companions. Great teams as always, glad to see you both qualify.

Also if anyone has pictures or videos from the event, posting links here would be appreciated!

This event was run incredibly well.

We got through all 106 (!) qual. matches without falling behind schedule. If we did, it was not noticeable.

Blair and all his game announcers did a remarkable job keeping the audience informed and entertained throughout the matches. The head referee did a phenomenal job announcing fouls; he clearly stated which team got the foul and what they did to receive it, something that proved to be very useful to our team.

The VIP seats for scouting were extremely useful, as they provided an excellent view of the field and allowed convenient use of electrical outlets.

We look forward to attending this event next year.

Everyone should make sure to say thank you to Kim Eckhardt for her amazing leadership and dedication in running a great event!

I was really proud of the incredible accomplishments of many New England teams, students, mentors, and volunteers that were showcased this weekend. Congratulations to all!

Also just back,
What a great event – The NE districts have been fantastic, and the level of play at the champs was amazing, great game flow while also tough defense (lots of bent metal), just the way we like it here. Off the field everyone became that much closer. Great fun to get more acquainted with the northern NE teams especially our 8th alliance members 1058 and 172, you guys were great to partner with, and we had fun putting a little scare into our great friends 558, 195 and the great rookie team 5122. Also, congratulations to our other CT friends 230, 177 and 4055 for their win.

Apple Pi (2067) is also deeply honored to be selected for one of the four Chairman’s awards, something the students have worked hard on, but with all the other amazing teams in the district never expected to get this soon, and great job by the other Chairman’s winners 2648, 78 and 811, its an honor to be in your company.

A special shout out to Sandra Brino, of 195, for Woody Flowers award – very well deserved. I know she is proud to see that there are 13 CT teams eligible to attend St. Louis!

Now we just need to figure out how to get there.

Districts are living up to their promise here – thanks to the volunteers, organizers and great teams.

Big congratulations to the winning alliance of 230, 177, and 4055! You guys dominated those elimination matches!

If the hungry hungry hippo was up to par during those matches the outcome would have been quite different. Hats off to 195 one of the most gracious teams that I have been privileged to know. 558, a team I know quite a bit about, has stepped up their game to championship caliber this year, watch out St. Louis. 5122 savor this moment to be selected by this alliance. It reflects well on the quality of your team.

4055 we finally did it. It goes to show you that this year is a game of endurance. We had our Rocky moment. And Kitties, hopefully we helped you regain your rightful place on Einstein.

What a fantastic event,

first and foremost I'd just like to say thank you to all the volunteers and event coordinators who made this event, and all the other district events possible, I had many, many doubts about the district system and thankfully they've all been put to rest, it was so cool to see so many deserving New England teams qualify for nationals!

To our alliance partners 558 & 5122 what an awesome run we had! 558 you guys are amazing to work with and I think it's so amazing the friendship that our teams have made this year, now to look forward to our 24+ hour ride to St. Louis together :D. Also 5122 you guys are one of the best rookies I have seen this year you played your role on our alliance to perfection, you guys have greatness in your future for sure.

I'd also like to give a huge congratulations to the winning alliance of 230, 177, & 4055, those finals matches were insanely intense and your strategy and gameplay against us worked flawlessly. 230, you built an amazing machine this year, the fact that you've been to the finals in every single event and won 2 of them, is no accident. 177 I've always been inspired by your machines and this year is no exception, St. Louis better watch out, because the Bobcats are back. And finally to 4055 this was such a well deserved win for you guys, in just 3 short years you've built up your team to a true force to be reckoned with and also congratulations on your first ever competition win!

Wow, what an incredible weekend. First and foremost, thanks to all the volunteers who made this possible, and huge congratulations to volunteer of the year Ellen McIsaac. Ellen, I have fond memories of you as a student on the Uberbots. I knew then you'd go far, and you certainly have.

To our alliance partners 195 and 5122, it was great working with you. 5122, you are one of the best, if not the best, rookie teams I've ever seen. And 195, the friendship our teams have built this year is a joy for me to watch as a mentor and an example of what FIRST is all about. If I have to spend 24 hours on a bus, I'm glad it's with you guys.

To 230, 177 and 4055, congratulations on some well played finals matched. We've played with and against you guys many times this year and in past years, and it's always hard fought. Hoping some of us wind up in the same division in St. Louis.

Finally, congrats to all the Chairman's winners and to Sandra Brino for her Woodie Flowers award. Well deserved, all.

See you in St. Louis!!

I want to add my thanks too all the volunteers and the committee who ran this event. It was definitely a great show and it went off like clockwork. Also to acknowledge the amazing opportunity presented by the use of the VIP seats for scouting. I only hope that continues in years to come and expands to other events.

A huge congratulations to Sandra Brino on her Woodie Flowers win. She is such a gracious and deserving mentor. So glad to see that you were able to describe that to the judges so they could see what the rest of us already knew.

A huge congrats to 2067 for your chairman's win. You are a great role model for us all.

To 195, 558, and 5122, you guys were an amazing alliance and we were humbled by the idea of taking you on (again). Next time maybe we can be on the same side of the field. :)

To our wonderful friends at 4055... Third times the charm! Those finals at Hartford and Southington were just practice leading up to the big show. So proud that we finally pulled out the win together.

And a huge shout out to 177, thank you for being the missing piece to our alliance. You were amazing team players and showed us why you are an Einstein caliber team. What a wild ride!

I was informed that the final standings weren't posted yet, so I finished mine and put them here(https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw4NSGgCmfdlakhMY09HWjlTejg/edit?usp=sharing). Teams in green are the 24 qualifiers for CMP. This only includes teams that attended NECMP, plus one of the Rookie All Star winners.

There's only one thing missing from this incredible championship event thread,
a poem!
(provided by Deb Pontbriant, team 230 mentor)

The Gaelhawks want to thank teams 177 and 4055
For joining us in catching, trussing and shooting high

From the first moment waiting for the signal to start
Knowing that working together had to be an art

Human players, drivers, coaches and robots combined
Making decisions by thinking together with one mind

Conjoining our teams to form a STEM force of one
Without your help, the blue alliance wouldn’t have won

NRG, Bobcats and Gaelhawks aligned
To form Kittygearhawks behind the line

This is the beginning and not the end
For us all, to forge a new understanding of STEM

So Thank you, Thank you, from the Gaelhawks to you
We can’t wait to see what more we can do

Thanks Deb, and thanks to teams 195, 558, and 5122 for providing such great competition, sportsmanship, and support, You guys are the best, without you we could not be the organization we are today.

And a special thanks to team 228 GUS, you've helped us out at every competition this year, we are eternally in your debt. Can't wait to get together in St. Louis!

Sincerely,
Steve.

just woke up. wot happen?

All I can say right now is "WOW."

Kim! You did a great job there!

I could not get a mental grip over how intense each match was; I'd look at an alliance during a qualifier and think "Oh, man that's going to be a blowout!" Then I'd see the other alliance! and think "OMG, it's a toss up!"

The hockey rink was sagging under the weight of blue banners!

One thing bugs me though...
People were unclear on what the official name of the event, and maybe we should straighten it out now:
New England "Regional" Championship
or
New England "District" Championship?

And according to the math (and the official email from FIRST) 2168 qualified for St. Louis, but regretfully we cannot go this year.

This might cheer up someone out there.

This may make a team very happy but it makes me sad. 2010 was my first year on 1922 OzRam and the last year we qualified to go. We are a small team and I still do not know how we were able to raise enough to fly to Atlanta and book rooms without charging the members for anything except food. However, after seeing how hard the team worked to create a robot good enough to be finalists in 1 regional and winners of another we could not imagine not going. One of the very few things I dislike about FIRST is the expense but I see no way around that. It has just given me more resolve to get more sponsors between now and next year.

13 out of 18 that attended NECMPS going to STL is an incredible percentage. This year CT has produced top-notch teams.

A little off topic...does anyone know the name of the song that they played at the end of the awards ceremony on Saturday? It was the last song of the event and it had a slide guitar intro.

The fact that 19 CT Teams attended NE Champs is amazing, that is almost half of CT teams. CT State championships in May is going to be a tough competition.

Represent CT in St Louis (and Einstein)!!!

Teams--I just want to add my 2 cents and congratulate all the teams for a great event in Boston. You all presented yourselves very well, even when I had my LRI vest on and the inspection descision may not have gone your way. I can't wait to see some of you on Einstein!

A LOT of work went into making this inaugural season of NEFIRST go so well for the teams. I had the pleasure of working/attending 7 of the 10 events, with a lot of dedicated individuals on many levels, from ingenuityNE to the students on the teams. Every RD, every volunteer, every committee member, all had your best interest in mind and they all deserve hearty round of applause. I am looking forward to improving your experience and 'making things better' for next year.

And a big Thank You to teams 1153 and 125 for having us play with them in the big robot sandbox. And of course to all who made NECMP happen, you guys and gals rock!

Sad to say that 1058 did not earn enough points and will not be attending the Championships in St. Louis. However, we had tons of fun in Boston, especially playing with 172 the Northern Force and 2067 Apple Pi! We were *that* close. I gotta say, the field delay before QF1.3 was probably the most fun I've had at an event in all my time in FRC. As sad as we are to be staying in New Hampshire during Champs, we'll have fun watching our fellow New England teams compete and take home Einstein gold next week!

We really appreciate all of the support we've received from the NE community.

So proud of all of the students who finally earned our coach the opportunity to go on his 18th year of service!

As a member of the field tech crew I can't say the delay was quite as much fun for us, but I'm really glad to hear it was a good experience for teams.
Giving teams (and spectators) a positive and enjoyable experience was our focus during the whole event.

Congratulations to all the teams attending the World Championships from New England, whether they qualified by winning an award, on points, as a HoF/legacy team or in one case from the waitlist(!).

New England Teams!

We want to congratulate and thank you all for an amazing 2014 season.
