Uh-oh.....the twins aren't twins anymore.......
Ones for 229, the other is for 4124? One is a designated passer and one is the catcher?

It's a single robot designed to switch drive modes via cartwheel.
What do I win?

4124 is not registered for any events for the 2014 season.
Shame, they've never missed the finals of a regional event...

Since 4124 is apparently no longer in existence :( +1 to the cartwheel idea!

Has 4124 been subsumed into 229?
Or did they, like, divide by zero and accidentally singularity themselves?

Nice holonomic addition to the "Drive in a day"!

The "top" is designed to be removable and they can switch drive styles in between matches. Both must be with in the weight limit however.

Edit: or Withholding allowance....
Just a question. Are two cims needed on the center omni? Looks nice.

Well, I guess you aren't doing Premiere Night... So when do we get to find out about the other half? And do we get to find out while listening to another Justin Bieber cover? :)
Will that center wheel break traction before you fully utilize the torque from two CIMs?

Six 4" Omnis
Ah, but it is not complete. They left out their 6th omni wheel for this exact reason

I guess I have to read Delphi for more than just rule updates.

CD has been rather quiet for this time of year and I think it has to do with "Premier Night". I'd much rather see sharing and inspiration flowing here than sit and watch a bunch of videos of robots showing what they can do when the elements are perfect.

Probably not but the HS students did what made sense to them. Their thought process was that if forward/backward movement was powered by 4 CIMs, they should use as many more as possible (the remaining 2) on lateral movement.

There will definitely be a video for at least one of the two robots....
Music...well, you'll have to wait and see ;)

We're currently working on a way to actively engage the center omni (probably a spring or some funky distribution of weight) to push it into the floor as best as we can. As it sits right now, I haven't done any experimentation/calculation that would give us a definitive answer but I believe you'd be right in your suspicions.

You caught me....
Gotta stop drafting CD posts after midnight...five turns into six.

Agreed. While I understand their motivation in order to make their show the best, I think the unintended consequences have hurt the Chief Delphi community.

I fail to see how hyping up things BEFORE the show would not be beneficial. Knowing what a few of the teams that are planning on being on there are doing I think they could come up with some interesting teasers (akin to this one and 488's drive) without revealing the total system.

Yup.
Cause 1126 is known to have released tons of information before build season ends.
We have stated that drive trains are ok to post.
