ep4 wiring

Looked all over cant find definitive answer.
On the encoders sold by AM ep4 etc for use on the transmissions what is each wire for? I know there is a power, ground and 2 signals but which is which?

According to this datasheet (http://files.andymark.com/E4P_datasheet.pdf), from left to right when looking at the pins: +5V, A channel, Ground, B channel.
