Fans are no longer working

We had 6 fans hooked up on our robot. 4 on Talons, 2 on Victors. They appear to have burnt out, but we don't know why. The wiring is correct, and we tried powering it directly by a battery and still nothing. Any suggestions?

Do the speed controllers still work?
If so, have you touched them while they were running?

The speed controllers do still work, and I haven't touched them while running because they always had the fans on them.

I would check the voltage rating on the fans and make sure they are rated for 12 volts.

I hope you had the fans powered from input side of the speed controller and not motor side. Just one of those things to check.
