Since this season's game involves lots of cooperation, there needs to be practice with more that one robot, so I would like to know how many teams are doing this.

We are not practicing with any other teams but I would like to point out that it is not because we have plenty of our own lol I do wish we could practice with other teams in the area.

Its an interesting idea that I think could work out well for people. But honestly, for most interactions besides defense, a human will work as a fine substitute for a robot.

There are two teams in our area that we are practicing with, which is great since there are three teams per alliance.

Once we have our robot done we will be practicing with our two robots and our shop partners robot.

I would not be so sure about that. I believe that human interaction can and will be limited

I believe he means that the humans are "acting" like robots, not as actual human players.

The best way I've found to simulate the 'awkwardness' of driving a robot (since humans are too agile) is to put the humans on roller blades. A human is pretty much like a high-level swerve drive in its abilities, and most teams don't have those.

We will be practicing defense with last year's robot and practice at the swart dogs facility hopefully with all 6 Iowa teams, the last Saturday of build season.

Haha, I wish we had "enough of our own robots"! Unfortunately, we're the only team on the island, so not much by way of options for us.

Any Capital District team with a practice robot is welcome to come practice with us. We've got nothing to hide*.

So to answer the OP's question, we're probably just playing with 20 since they're the other team in the area with a practice robot. Hoping 229 makes the trek down, but not holding my breath.

Not regular practice, but we'll be hosting a week 0 with hopefully ~30 other teams, which should get some nice practice in.

Also hoping to get both robots done in time to get some double practice in.

1493 has a practice bot this year, so hopefully we will see you over the next few weeks.

We're going to 2 week-0 scrimmages this weekend, but something tells me that's not what you're asking about :)

We have 3 old robots up and running - Breakaway (we've kept it alive because it has mecanum wheels on it), Rebound Rumble (better demo robot than anything else we have right now) and Ultimate Ascent (with the 2015 Alpha test board on it). That gives us a pretty good group of robots to practice with. Granted, none of them can handle the ball, but they can all "stand in" for robots that can.

Also, we hope to practice with a team in our area. Just need to both be fully done first. Or else we will just use our unbag time.

Awesome! We've signed up for the field for several of the same times as you guys, so I'm sure we will play a lot of catch.

We've had 1410 come over a couple of times for practice, and we're planning on working with them again this week, as well as 2240. We've got last years bot and our practice bot from this year running too, so, maybe 6 or 7 bots at a time will be viable this week (1410 has a practice bot, and 2240 has last year's).

This sounds incredibly dangerous
