Backlit Dark Polycarbonate

We have the idea of back lighting our teams logo with white LEDs but we don't want the light to be too intense so we want to use a dark polycarbonate to defuse the light. Having some issues of conveying what I am trying to say to some other team members does anyone have any pictures of robots that have done this in the past?

95 is using (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1337494&postcount=51) frosted polycarbonate for this.

You could also stick some cellophane on it to change colors

I believe 118 used some semi-transparent plastic last year to difuse their addressable LED strips
