Port Diameter

We found solenoids with the 1/4" NPT diameter. We found rule R77C to restrict solenoid port size to 1/8" NPT, but would it make the solenoids (SMC NVF3130-6G-02T-X119) legal if we put fittings on all the ports reducing the size to 1/8" NPT?
