I know a lot of teams just have one of their mentors sign the lock-up form on Tuesday night, but who has someone outside of their team sign the form? We've found this is a great night to have parents and administration come out and see what we've accomplished!
For the past 5 years we've had several of our principals come to our build location(off-site) on Tuesday night to sign the lock-up form and talk to the students about what we've learned and they even drive the robot(sometimes) . This is a great way to get more administration involved with FIRST, and we enjoy having them come see what we're learning!

Who comes to your bag-and-tag night?

Typically we'll either have the Executive Director or Director of our district building sign off on our form on Ship Day. Unfortunately it also means that we've never actually signed off on the form at 11:59:59, but usually sign off on it around 8:30 or 9:00 and relax around a bagged robot for a little.

This year and last our school's Educational Foundation (non-profit booster-like org) has had its meeting on bag'n'tag day. Some of the members will probably be by after their meeting (8pm) and see what we're doing.

However, a mentor signs the lock-up form.

We host our open house on bag and tag day. Our local superintendent has signed for us since the rule has been implemented.

We generally have the Principal sign the form.

Then again, Administration is well aware of what we're up to. They seem to think that bringing in thousands of sponsor dollars and inspiring kids to DEMAND we teach them physics and staying at school for hundreds of hours to learn new things is a good thing. (Can't imagine why).

For the past 3 years, for the last couple of days since the kids are on break and the school is closed we work out of one of the local fire halls. So last year we had the fire chief, and the year before that we had one of our sponsors come out and sign it. We are hoping in one of the years to come that we can get the superintendent or mayor to come out and sign the papers though.

We have a local police officer that is on duty at the time come in. They enjoy seeing the robot and it's a pretty cool picture!
