We are trying to format our cRio and it is stuck on reboot. We're not entirely sure how to fix it, but for now we can't find a way to stop rebooting safely. Does anyone know how we can exit the formatting tool while it is rebooting? The close button isn't usable.

We are using labview and our ethernet cable is plugged directly into the cRio.

Thanks for the help!

From my experience, you have to be connected to Wi-Fi for it to successfully reimage. So I guess check to see if you have internet connection first, and see if that solves your problem.

From what it sounds like, we had the same issue. We hit the reset button on the cRio. It then rebooted in safe mode. We set our IP Address to automatically detect. Went to the reimaging tool, and reset it to factory settings, then reimaged it again with the correct updates. I would definitely do this tethered.

Hope this helps.

Use the Windows Task Manger to end the Imaging Tool process. Then it would be a good idea to restart Windows, because things might not be completely stable afterward.

I've had "stuck on waiting for reboot" issues a few times this year. Every time, I found an extra IP address had been added to the wired network adapter (probably by the Bridge Configuration Utility). Going into the IPv4 properties' "Advanced" settings and removing the extra address has always made it work for me.

It's is generally discouraged to try to format a cRIO over a wireless connection. The usual advice is to disable every adapter other than the single wired one that should be connected to the D-Link router, with the cRIO also connected to the router.

Using a crossover cable can be effective as well.
