OK so the run down is, when I plug the light in the RSL it gos solid but apparently it's supposed to blink. The LED on the RSL is solid green, and again I have been told that it also has to be blink. So what can I do to fix it?
What state is the robot in?
The light on the DSC should mimic what your signal light does (they're connected internally). Remember to jump the signal light so it's configured for solid light operation, even though the operation is rarely actually solid.
Here are the blink rates, they depend on what mode your robot is in:
Solid ON - Autonomous enabled
Solid ON but blinks off every 1.5 sec - Teleop enabled
Slow blink (900ms ON / 900ms OFF) - System disabled by system watchdog, user watchdog, or driver station set to disabled
Fast-slow (200ms ON / 900ms OFF) - Low battery (<12V) or no user code AND system disabled either by system watchdog, user watchdog, or Driver Station set to disabled.
Fast (200ms ON / 200ms OFF) - System error; no Driver station communication; bad cRIO image, bad team ID, extensive communication errors

We found that our problem was solved by switching sidecars. We had the exact same problem until we switched it out.
Have you installed a jumper on the signal light? You need a wire running from La to Lb. Without it the light would stay solid.
See R63 C.
The RSL should be blinking in synch with the light on the sidecar.

I thought without the jumper the light should be blinking.
Check your sidecar if that light on the RSL port is blinking as well.
Check Ribbon Cable connections, check cRIO connections.

At the moment we are not connected to any computer, and the dlink is set to bridge. Our light and RSL is solid. Also could this be happening because of program issues?

The "code" for the light should be installed on the crio when you image it.

Check to see if any aluminum shavings have gotten in the sidecar and shorted it.
Have you checked the ribbon cable connections?
Was the sidecar working before?

The ribbon cables seem to be just fine, including the side car; but that's whats weird. Ethe only thing that is having an issue is the light.

Yeah, we had the same problem. We got a new one and it worked. Locked that one up since the "non-functional" one was just having a light problem.

I suggest you keep the working one sealed up and away if the semi-broken one still sends the correct signals.
