The red alliance at Washington just gave up their timeout to the blue alliance so the blue alliance's top robot could fix an issue before the 3rd match of the finals. Where they lost the match, they surely have won the respect of the FIRST community.

Props to 2557, 3393, and 4772.

These are team numbers that should forever be in our dialog.

T19 or not, it is the clearest and most powerful demonstration of gracious professionalism in FIRST.

We where on the receiving end in 2010 when our robot shattered a wheel and even though we lost our respect for the teams involved is remembered to this day.

also it was seen at MSC 2013. the #1 alliance main scoring robot (67 HOT) lost its drive train and could not fix it in the allotted time so the #2 alliance (469,217,3539) called there timeout allowing them to fix there drive train. #2 alliance won.

As I have understood it, there is no rule prohibiting calling your time-out because you want the other alliance to have additional time. T19 prohibits transferring your time-out card to another alliance.

Sorry it should be rephrased, the red alliance called their timeout when they realized that the top seed of the blue alliance wasn't ready to play

Not sure how anyone else defines the "best," but these guys are getting my 1, 2, and 3 votes in FRC Top 25 this week.

In central Illinois, we had issues with out catapult limit switch breaking and took a timeout. We needed to get a new one out of a truck and did not have enough time. Swartdogs, titanium and trident robotics took out there timeout so we could install it and test it, just making the buzzer when putting the robot on the field. All 3 teams are professional and are really amazing!

2826 offered their timeout to us last year in the finals at Wisconsin when we were having wiring issues. While we did not end up needing the timeout it is always nice to know you can still be friends with your opponents.

2557 is incredibly graciously professional. Not only did they do this today, but they suffered a heartbreaker of a loss in the finals at Central Washington last year and took it all in stride. Props to them.

We at 2046 could not be more grateful to 3393, 2557 and 4772 for this, and I know 2907 and 3237 feel the same. Many of us from the teams went up and personally thanked them. We had a great experience at the competition this weekend with them, and over our years in FIRST. Everyone here in the PNW seems to genuinely want each other to succeed and grow. We are very thankful to be a part of such a great FIRST community, where everyone strives to be gracious professionals.

I'm sure the red alliance didn't "give up" their time-out for the blue alliance. They must have discovered something was wrong with one of their robots, or they needed something that had been left behind in their pit. ;)
