What does a team have to know about going to Worlds for the first time.
Any and all ideas will help.

What are you bringing?
How are you getting there?
When are you leaving?
Where are you staying?
How are you getting from where you're staying to Edward Jones Dome? And back? Each day?
What are you eating for breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? (Can everyone on your team go without snacks?)
When are you returning home?
How are you going to pay for everything?

Another big one: How are you getting your robot there?
When are you shipping it out/who will be driving it there?

You are required to ship to champs.

Also, how are you going to get all your tools and equipment to St.Louis?

You are required to ship to champs.

And the followup to that answer: Do you have a crate? Do you know how to make one if you don't? Can you borrow one?

You are required to ship to champs.

You should receive a FedEx voucher to ship your robot in a standard crate.
That is the only way you can get the robot there. ( I think...)

Take a look at the FIRST documents regarding additional crate shipment.

You can also bring your other materials with you... depending on how you are getting there.

The first couple of years we went, we divided up tools and spares in our luggage on the plane. (had to be checked in of course.)

Good luck! You will have a great time!!

We will also be taking a truck from the PNW with pit materials. We did this last year and took about 12 teams worth of pit stuff.
This year it will be leaving from Kent (the FIRSTWa warehouse)
It will have some $$charge... we haven't figured it out yet. last year it was around $500. This year you will have to bring your tools/pit over (on a pallet) to Kent and it will be driven out from here if you want to participate.
You can certainly look into doing your own thing though if you want.

Definitely look into the crate thing soon because you have to ship RIGHT after the District championship if you get the CMP bid.

There only 10 days between the PNW championship and the CMP.
