This is a great opportunity to shadow someone or train for new roles you are interested in taking on next season!
i volunteered last year, and it was truly one of the best events that I attended. Great job last year and iim sure it will be great again.

It was a great event last year. :)
I understand that they are still looking for a location... does anyone know if they looked at some of the state universities (eg. CCSU, SCSU, WCSU, ECSU, UConn)? When we were talking about volunteering for the event, my daughter mentioned that it was after the end of the semester so maybe they would have a big gym available.
Probably too early to call this, but Team 178 likely won't attend this year. The date falls on the Farmington Relay for Life, which the Enforcers have participated in for years. Good luck to all teams that do make it.
How about Wesleyan or middlesex community

Any update on the whereabouts?
And I know I wasn't the only one to notice:
ten of the top 20 teams in New England, including the top FOUR, are Connecticut teams (This is not including the TechnoTicks who passed on the NE Champs to save the time & money for World Champs).
CT Champs is a significant battle in its own right, wherever it takes place (though it would be nice to know where...)

For those who have been asking, we hope to get the schedule out today after registration closes.
We will be holding a NEMO (Non-Engineering Mentor Organization) meeting from 10am to noon (come and go as your schedule allows) for all adult mentors who deal with non-technical issues, room location TBD. Please let your non-technical mentors know about the meeting.
We also hope to hold a high-level overview of the new FIRST Youth Protection Policy program, details to be announced.

Dave, can you check and see if the webcast will be saved somewhere at the end of the day? I've got a hard drive where I can take the footage and make sure it ends up on TBA
The team info document went out late this afternoon to the team mentors who registered the team for the event.
Also, in case you are doing any outreach, the official name for the event is The CIAC FIRST Robotics Connecticut State Championship.
Will there be any practice matches? Or will there be a practice field?
We have some delicious new autonomous modes to test :P

I know this is probably an awfully dumb question considering how hard they are to come by even after the competition has started, but is there by any chance any trace of a match schedule floating around the Internet somewhere?

Nope, we won't generate one until the night before or the morning of (because we need to make sure all the registered teams actually showed up - that's one of the usual caveats with preliminary schedules). But I'll try and grab the final scores/match video for TBA archival, as well.

This.

We will not be having practice matches. We're running a tight schedule as it is, and we wanted to try and give teams as many matches as possible.
I'll get back to you on the practice field shortly.

I hear that it will be webcast on http://new.livestream.com/nefirst. I can try and confirm that this afternoon.

Any information on the webcast would be helpful, just because I know we have some people who like to watch us from home.

For those of you curious, 558, 5129 and 177 won.

I've got the scores from today, and I'm sending them over to The Blue Alliance - they should make it up there in a few days.
And I was recording the webcast for archival, but I think my hard drive ran out of space somewhere near the end. I'll post what I can, and hope Livestream recorded the rest. Those will make their way up sometime next week, probably.

I have to say this and I'm sure the recordings will confirm - there was a lot of ramming and in-frame interaction going on during the elimination rounds. And the pileups didn't help at all.
Overall, it was a tough competition once the elimination rounds started and I really have to congratulate 177, 558, and 5129 on winning it.
195 declined 176.
It seems people always decline 176.

We had a great time at the 2nd Annual CIAC State Championship. It was a tough event for us because we were running on 8 kids, which is less han half of our usual crew. (Maybe it made it more fun) Thank you to 558 and 5129 for another great elimination run, it's was fun to be reunited.
All of 177's matches can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uprqF4OSjbY&list=PLAe1KXjh8tJmt4RO31ENNXj2IWFbsbgtb
I will also be uploading our other angles and on-robot videos to http://www.youtube.com/user/bobcatrobotics later today.

It seems people always decline 176.
But only one of those teams has ever finished ahead of us, and we met them in the finals in 2006.
Does anyone know what the final standings were? or where to find them?
Thanks!

Anyone know the final rankings? I know the top 8 because of alliance selection, but I think it would be useful to put al rankings on TBA.
Edit:
Oh, and thank you 181 for finding our spirit flag. We thought it had moved onto a different life.
