View Full Version : Double sided intake club

I remember a couple of "clubs" last year (7 disc auto, 50point climb/dump, etc...) and I thought it would be fun to showcase some of the niche robots like this again. Please post pictures and/or video if you have them.
At my team's regional, we (4536) were the only double-sided intake bot. Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sWpcQ3F_hk) is our highlight video from that event. We really liked the flexibility that this design gave us, we could play either the back or middle zone really well. We were hoping that we could get a ton of assist points which we did.
Watching webcasts, I have seen 254, 3467, 95, and 1678, but I am sure that there are even more double-siders out there.

1477 (http://www.texastorque.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/2014Robot@Dallas.jpg) has two as well.
As does 2881 (https://www.flickr.com/photos/spectrum3847/13637188244/in/set-72157643440852755)
1493 has two also. Wish we would have utalized the benifits of it more. Makes for great strategy.
Actually Caleb you weren't the only one at 10K Lakes. We do double side intake, but without two intakes. Our robot is symmetric so we can put the vacuum down on either side of the robot.

Team 696 also has double sided intake.
3147 and 1529 can load either side.

Well, I guess you could call 2481's intake two sided (or more like three sided, as it is 270 degrees), but I don't know if that really counts...

1477's are flexible...I think they're polycarbonate.

Also 624 (http://img.team624.org/53187115.2c90a5cc49a035.jpg)! Though it seems they haven't utilized them for a 3 ball auto... Yet... (They are probably limited by their catapult's recharge speed and their routine of getting double hot goal)

696 checking in! Front and back intake with a 3 ball auto. Not the original design, but ended up being implemented after CVR for LAR

We actually changed the catapult design slightly at Alamo which made it difficult to compress the ball through the back. (We can't get the 3 shots because of the recharge time anyway, you're right, but it's nice not to need a winch or anything extra to bring it down, just gravity.) We changed the back pickup for Orlando into a 33-inspired "halo" to keep the ball in place and not moving around.

We have them, unfortunately they never worked properly at our regionals and we won't be running them at champs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmM2E5Bx8Pk

We are the same, but with a wheeled intake/shooter. Symmetry Club!
