This months "Machine Design" Magazine has a neat article summarizing new technologies for giving robots human dexterity.

I got my copy last Tues. My instant reaction was "Why couldn't they have printed this two months ago?". Of course I haven't been able to read it yet due to a family emergency, but the cover looked useful.
