FIRST in Michigan Championship Special to be Broadcast

Interested in seeing the intense action at the Michigan Championship this season? If you are in Michigan, you can watch it on your local television stations according to this schedule (http://www.firstinmichigan.blogspot.com/2014/05/michigan-first-robotics-state.html).

If you aren’t in Michigan, you can watch the special on demand, starting at 9PM EST tonight, here (http://www.dptv.org/programs/first-robotics/).

Note that the on demand website has other Michigan Championship-related videos as well as the special itself. While you’ll have to wait until 9PM EST tonight to see the special itself, you can check out the other videos right now.

If last year’s special (http://www.dptv.org/programs/robotics-on-demand-2013/) is any indication, this is going to be a fantastic broadcast and a great example of how to Make FIRST Loud!

I watched some of the live FIM broadcast from the Detroit Public TV site (http://www.dptv.org/programs/first-robotics/). FIRST headquarters could learn a lot about how to cover, commentate and stream an FRC match from these guys. I wish all of our regionals had this level of professional sportscasting!

The equipment was insanely invasive. You need serious room for all that stuff.

I suspect you might catch a glimpse of me too. For once without my butt sticking up in the air as I determine if a robot is off the ground or not!
