Coach on team #639, Red B^2, from Ithaca High School and Cornell University.

Due to the number of regionals that will be taking place next year, and inability to reschedule the nationals, FIRST will be reducing the amount of time teams have to build their robots. It's now 5 weeks.

are you gonna be bringing these crates of jolt and dew? cuz if so youll have plenty of opertunity to meet us rambots...well probably end up flocking to youre pit...
just a word of advice though: youd be well adviced NOT to give any rambot anything that contains even a trace of caffein cuz were definately pretty much hyperactive enough as is...maybe we should invest in a large quantity of ritilin...
mike
"hmmm...ritilin...i tried applying for that once but forgot to finish it" -actual quote from a rambot (name withheld to protect the massivly add...ill give a hint though: his last name is corliss and his first name is mike and he stripped for alliance last year"

What great news! The game is too dull now, with all 4 teams working together. I am glad to see FIRST is adding another challenge to the game to make it more fun. I can't wait. This should make for the best FIRST year yet! 6 weeks is much too long, bring it on Dean!

What rock have you guys been under? FIRST magazine issue number 72 the third story in, page 12, lower half. They have an inside scoop that says thier thinking of reducing the 5 weeks down to 3 and a half, while adding at least one more regional in each state, including alaska. Jeez.. and you guys call yourselves FIRST fanatics. Stop buying from the newsstand and get a subscription.

This can't be a good idea. 3.5 weeks? How in the hell do they expect us to get stuff from Small Parts Inc.???? We ordered chain and gears (only chain and gears) and it took 31 days to get to us! That's over four weeks. Harumph. Dean will get many a letter about this. They've got to let out manuals, goals and objectives, and materials lists the other 2.5 weeks earlier (and online at the same time) so teams can design their bot. I don't know about you guys, but we don't design and build at the same time. Dean has really got to have some common sense on this one. And not make SPI ordering necessary.
