Survey
Blog Date: Wednesday, June 11, 2014 - 16:28
Please see the note below from FRC Program Coordinator, Hannah Foust. Among other things, Hannah is responsible for our survey activity.
I know that we have a lot of surveys in FRC, but we’re asking for your feedback one more time in the Post Season Survey. For the 2014 post season wrap-up, we are seeking feedback on items like the FRC Email Blasts, Dean’s List Interview process, and game design.
Once the survey is over, we plan to share the data we collect. We use these surveys to help us make important decisions that help improve the value and quality of the program.
Please don’t forget to take the 2014 FRC Post Season Survey. We have emailed the link to the Post Season Survey to all main and alternate contacts, so please be sure to forward this on to all members of your team who may not receive the email blasts.
You can also use this link to take the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FRCPostSeason2014. The survey will close on Monday, June 20th. We ask that each participant only take the survey once. Thank you!
Please help us make the FRC program better by filling out that survey!
Thanks.
Frank
That question about recycling games is an interesting one. Maybe we'll get Aerial Assist, PART II, next year :D

I just want to see Aerial Assist again. Played on Lunacy regolith. With minibot poles. Which are on coopertition bridges. Is that too much to ask for? ;)

Only if we can have the 2010 scoring system.

What about the spider rack?

Rotating pyramids made of storage bins?
I'd like to see how 2004 plays out with 3 robots per alliance. That was a good one that was very difficult to "generalize" well, but still entirely possible to do that if you were willing to take the risk of a specialist shutting you down.
Or 2001 as a competitive game, 4v4.

Summer summer? Is that the part of summer where even thinking makes you feel hot?

We finally threw ours out after all these years.
I do NOT want to have to build it again.:ahh:
Lots of resources needed....

Haha, we still have ours suprisingly. Sits in the corner of our warehouse along with some of the other past game elements.
We tore most of the elements apart this year except for that, rebound rumble bridge, minibot pole, Lunacy trailer and the platform for the dodgeball year.

Interesting, I swear everyone was just complaining about this year's game. I must be going senile.

Wonder if the recycled game bit means that the inner tubes will make (another) reappearance

I think we can be sure they'll make another appearance at some point. The question really should be... when can we expect to see Orbit Balls (http://www3.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/2009-first-robotics-competition-manual-and-related-documents)again? (Why isn't there a "duck and cover" or "run and hide" smiley anywhere?) Personally, I've been waiting for something like Tetras (http://www3.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Community/FRC/Team_Resources/Archived_Game_Docs/2005%20-%20The%20Game.pdf)to show up again... I wasn't around that year, and think it would be a fun challenge :)

I doubt it, there isn't much you can do with inner tubes that would warrant another inner tube game.

How about playing Triple Play with tubes(giant poles you put the tubes on in a vertical plane as opposed to horizontal) never done that with them before, or a game where you have to pass inner tubes off to get more points for them :D see two idea where we can reuse inner tubes without much effort.
Personally I want to play a game with floppies, tetras or boxes again. I am getting sick of shooting games
FIRST should do a forum where teams brainstorm game aspects and generate ideas for rules, etc. Then FIRST can pick and choose ideas that they like. As long as everyone doesn't say watergame

I think they've got enough ideas from http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=148 to last a few years yet.
You really want to look at some of the older threads--the ones started by dlavery--for some really wacky ideas (that may or may not have inspired some form of FRC game).
