As a new team, we are looking for a web-based program where we can enter purchases and payments with enough transaction detail to include part numbers, etc. We would like to be able to get lists of purchases by vendor, by expense category (pneumatic parts vs motors, etc). Quicken would be the perfect option, but they don't have a web-based option which we can access from wherever we are. There is a mobile app version of Quicken but it doesn't provide the reporting we need. Our high school has a bank account for us but only tracks total deposits and withdrawals. We want more detail with better reporting than just Excel spreadsheets. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi, Sage One is an online application developed by the company behind Peachtree and Simply Accounting.I think it can do what you're after and it offers unlimited users. It's free to try as with most online apps.

Honestly, from what it sounds like, Google Drive fits your needs perfectly. Just document your purchases in one sheet and then load up pivot tables in another.

Pretty sure Sage One is more for the AR part of the accounting (invoicing and payments). I think the OP is looking for Purchasing and AP components.

BTW, thanks for the mention. I work on all three of these products every day as a Business Analyst for Sage Software :)

Peachtree and Simply Accounting are now called Sage 50 (Peachtree in the US, Simply Accounting in Canada).

In the long run, probably using a Google Doc to track your purchases and payments is best (that's what we do). The amount of transactions a team has probably would not justify the expense of an online commercial solution. If you want to research potential online AP systems, just google Online Accounts Payable Solutions or Online Purchase Tracking.

We have been using Quicken for a very long time now and it works very well It is extremely helpful for creating our business plan financial section, tax purposes, etc. If you have any questions regarding Quicken, please PM me and I can try my best to answer them.
