View Full Version : west coast products ds gearbox encoder setup
My team is currently trying to integrate a grayhill encoder into a 2 cim west coast ds gearbox. I was wondering how other teams have done this.

What teams usually do for that is drill a 1/4 inch hole in one of the axles in the outer wheels, and stick the encoder in that hole.

Small question. How do you prevent any cables from getting wrapped around the wheels when it rotates this way? A drawing would really help!

Here is an image of how 254 has done them in the past. The wires are just zip tied to the frame, which is enough to hold it down.

Thanks! Didn't know it was that simple! My team made a robot that didn't have many sensors this year, so I'm really trying to get as much info on this as possible. :)
