Will there be a video stream of the competition?

Sad that this will be the first Fall Classic I've missed in 4 years.

Team 330 will be bringing our 2014 practice robot with the 2015 beta control system installed to compete. Be sure to stop by and look at the hardware and ask questions.

Is there a list of competing teams for both days?

3476 will be there for both days. 3309 can only make it to Saturday because of a conflict with the Boeing C-17 day on Sunday.

Never mind, I found the google docs sheet from the SCRRF website.

Can't wait till Saturday!

Questions about pit layout: Will teams fielding two robots get a double sized pit? Larger(but not quite double-sized) pit? two separate pits? And will the standard pit sizes be 10x10?

Kind of a weird question that I think I know the answer to, but our marketing and imagery kids want confirmation so that they can plan our pit presentation accordingly.

Valid question. Likewise I want to make sure 696 is in as two separate teams. Our returning members will be a team and the new members will be their own team with the twin robot.

I suppose we will need to know this as well!

The plan is to give each robot its own pit. There are a couple of other last minute questions the organizing committee will be discussing tonight. We will probably send a last minute e-mail blast some time this evening.

Is there no truss? Or is it just off for practice matches or something?

While match scores had a rough start, the volunteers got it down accurately by the finals.

Balls are bouncing out of goals due to design.

Are there Lexan sheets across the bars above the drivers heads? It was in the update after week 1, for week 2 events.

Sounds like they need some cardboard.

Based on some pictures I saw on Facebook there are a few poles sticking up past where the lexan shelf typically sits however the poles extend roughly 2 feet above that so they are probably what is causing the balls to bounce back out since they created a backboard.

We had the official FIRST metal goals at our event last weekend, but they didn't come with the poly sheets, so we threw some wood up there and tied it down.

Just for practice matches.

Yea. After about match 20 they were removed.

Sounds like they need some cardboard.

I did see some thick foam of about the right size in the general area today, not sure if it was put on or not. (We did get a few shots stuck up on the rails for the field crew to remove, though.)

I'm curious if anybody got video of either the (inadvertent?) catch or the paused match, specifically after the pause (both matches from today). Just some crazy plays...

The foam material was definitely put on the rails before the matches started.

Yes, there certainly were some crazy plays and some very intense play in the eliminations!

2014 SCRRF Fall Classic Results

The biggest ever SCRRF Fall Classic event is in the books and it was a great pair of competitions!

Two separate tournaments were conducted: Saturday and Sunday editions of Aerial Assist.

Thirty-eight teams participated in the Fall Classic: 26 on Sat, 21 on Sunday with11 teams competing on both days.
Several teams brought two (or more) robots, resulting in a total of 44 robots in the competition!

Network connectivity issues with the tablet-based automatic scoring system impacted scoring and ranking on Sat.
Still the teams were able to compete in 5 qual matches, followed by a final four elimination round.

Here are the Saturday results:

http://team980.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/FallClassic_2014_Results_Sat2.gif

The scoring process and smaller field on Sunday allowed teams to play 7 qualification matches.
Double elimination semifinals were run for the final four tournament.

Here are the Sunday results:

Field Managers: Andy Crick, Chris Husmann. and Joe Petito
MC/Game Announcers: George Chen (Saturday) and Jojo Aguilar (Sunday)
Field Supervisor: Terry Wells
Referees: Laurene Abato-earwood, Chuck Bergh, James Montgomery, Eric Husmann (Sat & Sun) and Austin Shalit (Sat & Sun)
Webcast and real-time scoring: TiGears (FRC 4470)
CSA: Mark Liu

The awards judging team was led by Eileen Kahn with Stephen Stein, Emma Roberts, Michael Henry, Richard and Dona Sisk.

T&L Publications provide 1-yr subscription and CD 2013 full issues of Servo Magazine and Nuts & Volts Magazine, awarded to the #1 and #2 seeded teams.
Copies of the single current issues of the magazines were distributed to teams in the pits.

Thanks go to Team 4470 and the administration of Valencia High School for providing a great venue for a very successful event.

We're looking forward to the 2015 FRC season and another exciting Fall Classic!

If I may suggest a few corrections to the results:

2014 SCRRF Fall Classic Results

Here are the Saturday results:

http://team980.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/FallClassic_2014_Results_Sat.gif

The eliminations bracket isn't quite correct. The scores are correct, but the alliance numbers are not. Doesn't affect the end results at all.

The #4 alliance was 9012, 9696, 330, 5012 and the #3 alliance was 4964, 1138, 294, and 687.

SF1-1 was 1v4 and concluded with a score of 106-96 and SF2-1 was 2v3 with a score of 215-60.

Here are the Sunday results:

http://team980.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/FallClassic_2014_Results_Sun.gif

Finalist alliance's backup robot was 687 and not 3512.

----

Gryffingear enjoyed the event. The change of venue this year was very refreshing(coming from a long-time participant in the event). We'd like to thank the following entities:

Team 4470 and Valencia High School. Thanks for hosting the event! Valencia was a good venue for this event with a spacious pit and a nice short walk between the pits and arena!

Our Saturday Alliance Partners, 330 Beach Bots and 696B Circuit Breakers. It was a fun run in the sudden-death semifinal round. It's always fun to work with two of Socal's powerhouses!

Our Sunday Alliance Partners, 599 RoboDox and 687 Nerd Herd. Thanks for assisting us in 5012's first trip to the finals at any event! Hopefully we can cross paths again in the future!

Mark Liu from 2485: Thanks a lot for machining some new parts for us last minute. Truly a lifesaver. These parts were critical in getting 5012's second robot operational for matches. Also thank you for taking the trek from San Diego to volunteer. I bet there wasn't a team in the arena on Saturday that didn't benefit from your assistance.

Thanks, Jeremy!

I made updates to the results post just above yours.

I agree the venue, Team 4470 and Valencia HS admin knocked it our of the park for the Fall Classic!

Mark Liu was certainly a big help as well - added him to the "Kudos" list.

Correct source of recording, and it's funny, I asked about that shortly after the event. http://new.livestream.com/accounts/10188578/events/3421488 should work.
