It's been an exciting year so far in Mark McLeod's Registration 2015 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130647) thread here on Chief Delphi!

Let's see how the action stacks up against the threads from the previous years...
2015 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130647) 2014 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119675) 2013 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108565) 2012 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97582) 2011 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87007) 2010 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78490) 2009 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69539) 2008 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58988) XKCD (http://xkcd.com/1447/)

54% more posts vs this time last year
Doubled the record for most posts in a 24-hour period (92 posts on 9/26/2014, previously 46 posts on 10/1/2009)

Can you make a graph that shows the number of posts by teams attending 1, 2, 3, etc. regional and district event?
What is the retention rate of those who posted in this year's Registration 2015 thread vs. the Registration threads from year's past?

Thanks for the nostalgia hit, Nate. I notice it is now seven years since Mark took over the registration thread. The quality of discussion and depth of analysis have improved markedly during that time.

I think this is mostly due to the growing number of CD participants who have been pulled into key volunteer and event planning roles, as the FRC has grown. The small and dedicated band at FIRST HQ are chasing an ever-increasing herd of ever-more demanding cats.

What happened in 2013 that we had well over 50 posts as the season was ending?

Edit: goes to look ...

Ah, Championship discussion, with the (then) enlarged 400 team field.

Followed by several posts about how many events teams went to (1 event, 2 events, etc.)

So the question should be, what happened in 2014 that we didn't discuss Championship registration?

And we don't say it enough, but thanks Mark for tracking all this interesting stuff for us!

This is all your fault you know...
