Engineer on team #288, RoboDawgs, from Grandville High School and X-Rite/Delphi.

SME offered to help FIRST. The cards were Dean Kaman's idea. The purpose is to track the progress of participants in the FIRST program. One of the new sponsers for this years event signed on as result of the data that was collected last year. However, last years data was incomplete because everyone did not register even after being asked to do so by FIRST. This year it was thought to add some encouragement to registering. You wouldn't think it would be so difficult to do something so simple. There is no underlying scheme to surrender your personal data to space aliens. I think it's referred to as cooperation!

It's not the card--its that there is no guarantee of the information being kept private. FIRST also never said what the information was being used for, and I would like to know such things before I give out information.
