OK Since this IS a Rumor site... I'll start a
few...(Just be aware I was one of those kids that
harrassed the big mean dog behind the wooden fence by
making cat noises when I was growing up...)

Rumor #1 IT or Ginger... after extensive research and a
few late blurry eyed nights.. I have determined that IT
is in reality... the DEAN KAMEN ACTION FIGURE! Complete
with Olympic torch and I-Bot which he drives up the
steps to light the Olympic flame! Later they'll release
the Woody Flowers action figure complete with button
vest...
ok rumor #2.. There will be a "Sally Forth" strip
that will mention F.I.R.S.T. coming out soon.

ONE of these rumors is NOT a rumor... ! But which?

I want a Dean Kamen action figure! But, since Sally Forth has mentioned FIRST before, I expect that is not the rumor.

Dean had that strip framed on the wall at his house last year. Since it was colored and I didn't see any of the dots associated with newspaper printing, I assume it was the original art! Either that or the light was real bad.

Sally is generally one of the best comic strips and that particular one is one of my all time favorites. I can't wait to see what they come up with this time.

Oh SUUUURRREEEEE Get me in trouble with Dean! (I
already scraped plans for a "Sally Forth" series on
"Ginger"... it was a temptation...) but now, the Dean
Kamen action figure.... DON'T DO IT... at least until
my patent application comes through and I have my
marketing scheme in place... (Darned... these million
dollar ideas ALWAYS sound like jokes at first!!!) I'll
have to see if My daugther has any Ken dolls... I don't
think an old GI Joe will work... (Maybe we can make
this a contest for the best Dean Kamen action
figure...) (Just a though Dean!)

Steve,

Just followed your "cartoonist" link.

I am sorry that I don't often read the signature line of cartoons, so I didn't recognize your name as the author/artist of Sally Forth (which I love by the way. Among the gang of kids I keep at home are my two older girls who are rapidly turning into Hillary before my eyes -- your strip is getting funnier all the time).

Anyway, having finally put your name together with the strip I like, I decided to follow your link.

I was very happy to see that you and I are University of Illinios Alumni.

Nice to have something in common with someone as talented as yourself.

Keep up the good work.

GO ILLINI!

The problem with me is I CAN'T READ!

Your co-author is an Illini. Sorry for the confusion.

When you retire some day and you do the talk show circuit, think of me when the interviewer asks you what it was like going to college in the middle of a sea of corn fields.

To err is human.

Joe... Rats!!! Just when I thought I could swing an
honorary degree from Illini... nope I graduated from U
of H where they teach electronics for comic strip
writers...

Kevin... great news on the music for the regional...
MARS Music Store is having a sale on electric
guitars!!! Did you know I can play "Stairway to Heaven"

and know most of the words?

Best Wishes

Steve

I don't really have a problem with Stairway to Heaven, but you're gonna be up there a long time playing it. Hope your fingers still work well enough to fix all those tiny electronics. :^)
Anyways, if they do actually let you up there to play, then I'll have no choice about the matter next year. I'm afraid I'll just have to DJ the regional myself. On the plus side, I can play the Cotton-Eyed Joe for you again. :^) Maybe we can get you on tape dancing this time.
On a different note, I'm never going near another MARS store with my wallet again. Last time I went in for a nice set of headphones, and walked out with a $100 dollar set. Also, I'm not going near that new Fry's electronics. I hear it's like MARS, Radio Shack, Best Buy and Office Depot all in one. There's just too high a concentration of neat stuff in those places.

Seeing as how the guy who just posted those two rumors is one of the writers for Sally Forth (Check the by-line on your comics page) it's not really coincidence that FIRST is showing up in Sally. :^) Not that that makes it any less cool. Of course, somehow, in the first comic, team 57 got put in the title frame that half the papers don't print. Hopefully something will be done about that this year, but Steve scares me, so I'm not giving him any ultimatums. It's probably cause he has the power to make sure nothing but oldies is played at Lone Star. :^)

Hmm... I still have the one they did back in '99. I gotta find it. I am really looking forward to the Dean Kamen action figure too. And then the Woodie one with complete button vest, now thats gonna be good.
