We're back with our build season blog for 2015.

We meet all 45 days of build season so there should be a new post every night discussing the progress that we made each day.

Today's post includes a short video of two of the prototypes we had working today and some thoughts on this year's game.

This is one of the BEST daily build logs out there in the WILD.

For all those young whipper snappers and old stuttgarts out there, you should learn how to RSS subscribe to this blog and read it everyday !

Thanks for compliments.

Today's build blog isn't about what we built but more of a continuation on our strategy discussion from this week and what we are hoping for in a 3rd alliance partner.

Today's post included some test video of our drivetrain.

Drivetrain Test Video (http://blog.spectrum3847.org/2015/01/day-17-drivetrain-video.html)

It's a simple drive train that will allow for limited strafing while maintaining the simplicity that we wanted.

Very nice Robot as always Allen...I just sad that it won't be at Lonestar this year. I would love to see this one in action in person. I always enjoy reading your teams blogs to see how you guys are doing and your take how to approach the game.

Thanks, so our pretty powder coated robot will hopefully be in a crate shipped to championships during Lone Star but we'll likely have our practice bot around the venue. Our current plan is to do some demonstrations in Discovery Green to get people up to the event.

I like the drivetrain! We wanted to do something similar in 2012 to jump from a 6wd with omnis on one end to a 3 wheel holonomic omni drive. Didn't end up having the weight available for it though.

Overall, solid simple design. Thanks for posting the blog again this year!

What kind of wheel are you using on your tape measure mechanism?

2.5" VEX Colson Performa Wheel. We sanded it to match the profile of the tape measure.
