Help. It's stuck and we kind of want to take it out.

What did you do to get it stuck? What have you tried to fix the problem?

I don't know how else to explain it. We plugged it in to flash the firmware and now we want to take it out but it's stuck in there. We've tried pulling it straight out but that didn't work. There's not much else to do that I can think of.

We had the same problem during beta testing. Some clips that are supposed to provide some holding force on the connector are bent out too far.
To fix it we pushed stiff plastic from some discarded packaging in between the connector and the socket on all four sides and then wiggled it back and forth until it came free.

Great, glad I'm not the only one with this issue.
I think we're just gonna keep it bundled up and tucked away instead of shoving plastic in the sides every time we want to disconnect.

Please try to correct the problem so the cable can be removed when you're not using it. If a "tucked away" cable comes loose and the metal shell of the USB connector contacts something electrified, you have a real chance of frying the roboRIO.

We will correct it when it's on the actual bot with moving parts, right now it's just on a test board to test code while build team builds a prototype chassis.

A USB pigtail would be a good solution to this problem.
Yes this has also happen to use. We rolled the cord up and placed electrical tape over the end. Cannot afford another one. :ahh: Too afraid to try and pull it out. Thank for letting us know that we were not crazy.
We have not had any luck with removing the usb cord from the RoboRio. Any other suggestions?
