Nice job , looks like drill motor gearbox . You might want to put shields around the wires and drive assembly . The addition of a foot controlled pedal would be handy when TIG welding when both hands are full.

If you haven't used you Automation Direct voucher from the KoP. I believe they have some nice foot petals just FYI.
