Hi all!
My team didn't do FRC last year and so I didn't spend much time at the new district events. This year, we're back in the game! I realized today that several of our new team members probably don't know the Cotton Eyed Joe, Electric Slide, etc. (One is an exchange student, for instance.)
Are the district events still doing the dance for fun during a field fault? If so, do you know what they'll be playing? We're attending the Nashua and UNH events.
Thank you!

I think the district decided not to have field faults this year...:)
People were too happy, dancin' all the time.

Some of my favorite memories are of team members dancing! :) But I'm totally good with no field faults.

While there aren't many field faults, they will play the traditional FIRST dances at times. There usually is a time-out used in the playoff matches, and then once you're in the finals everything's back-to-back anyway so they have a field timeout and have some time to kill.
I don't remember where I saw it originally (as I'm not involved with DJing in any way), but http://firstmusicdjs.com/ has information and playlists for DJs to use at competitions. I have no idea how official that site is or if all events follow it exactly, but it should give you a good idea of what'll be played (or at least what was played last year).
I'm currently planning on volunteering at Nashua (though I haven't been confirmed for a specific role yet), so I'll see you there.

Thank you Peter! That list is a great look into another component of the competition.

Some of the unsung advantages of a District system are being able to opt out of arena faults, broken game pieces, multiple national anthems and robot software bugs*
To the OP's question: I guarantee there will be dance breaks at Granite State.
* one of these is true
