Yea I read that I was wondering if anyone found a way around it.

The DS has new features such as better Xbox joystick support and mDNS. Getting those libraries on XP was not feasible. The old DS will still work on XP and can be used to control older robots. It can even control roboRIO in the shop, but they will require the new DS at competitions.
