A few of us were talking a we thought it'd be a good idea to have a College Student get together at Nationals. We're planning to meet at 9:30 pm on Thursday night in Downtown Disney. We figure that we'll probably end up heading over to Pleasure Island at some point. We're trying to keep this only to college students so please respect our wishes. We're planning to meet at the gigantic fountain between Planet Hollywood and the AMC Movie Theater. This is on the West Side of Downtown Disney. A map of downtown disney is linked below. If you're interested in showing up, get in touch with me.

I like to stress the point that this is a College Students get together...

We feel a lot better if everyone going is actually a college student, which usually mean they will be at least 18 years old. As adults we will be responsible for ourselves, and won't be responsible for anyone younger...

Matt and I might be checking ID's, but I do not want it to come down to that... So, please respect our wishes...

One more thing, remember to clear this with the person in charge of your team. I don't want them to think that college students in their team are uncontrolable (or that they think they are too good to stay with high school students). Make sure they know this is a once-a-year event that really mean a lot to us...
We are all going to Nationals with a team, and so we should make sure they know we will be back with the team as soon as possible :-)

Hopefully it will be a fun night, but I have no idea when it will end...

Time will tell...

Checking IDs, huh? Knowing my luck, I'll forget mine or lose it just in time. :-) I've already lost that stupid thing for about a week or so. It should be a lot of fun, as long as everyone can find the big fountain next to Planet Hollywood. :-) Pleasure Island closes at 2 am, so we have until at least then. I'll see you all there.

Doesn't the fact that you're a college student make it difficult to get there on thurs? Maybe it's just cause I'm a college student without an actual team of my own, but I'e got tests and classes and crap on thursday....

Yet another reason for me to get myself a university sponsored team. Looks like I'll have to do it now. Except some Pennsylvania team has already claimed the Aggie name. I mean come on, who ever heard of the Pennsylvania Aggies anyways? I guess we'll just have to be "The Real Aggies" or possibly The Wrecking Crew, depending on the fuzziness of next year's game. :^)

Christina and I will both be there, of course.

I just wanted to stress that it's probably pretty important that everyone makes sure they've got a way back to their hotel ahead of time. In the case of the Days Suites, the shuttle buses stop running when the parks close. We've been told we might be able to arrange transportation through the hotel, but we're also prepared to pay the cab fare to get back.

Just a note, and I look forward to seeing you all down in Florida.

The main reason I said that was for dull enrollement people. And if you're under 18 you can't get into Pleasure Island anyway so it's a non-issue.

There was a question asked about it so we thought that idea would work -- apparently not. I think the better question is what position do you have on your team? Are you a mentor or a student? And leave it at that.

i think there's a fairly simple way to know if you're in high school or college..

very simple i would say.. but if that's not the deciding factor, why doesn't everyone just come and meet there!!

Normal stuff? Team Stuff? FIRST Stuff? Should I borrow one of the Leopard suits or maybe drag the old bright orange Tiger suit out of storage?

I dunno about the last one. Disney always seems nervous about unsanctioned bright orange tigers walking around. In '98 they told me I couldn't go into EPCOT. Apparently for my own safety. Heatstroke and all that.
