Driverstation Dashboard settings not saving

We plan on running the smartdashboard this year (java), but the settings never get saved, it always defaults to the Labview dashboard type when I startup the driverstation again. I've tried the instructions on this link https://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/4485/m/24192/l/290135?data-resolve-url=true&data-manual-id=24192 but that didn't work either. Any ideas on how to set the default dashboard type to the java smartdashboard?

If you update your DS to the one released last week, that issue was corrected. You'll need to update for your first event anyway.
