Here is our robot "Susanne" for 2015 Recycle Rush season. We used 6 CIMs in total for our slide drive and for elevator and in-take mechanism 6 window motors.

Hope to see you at Orlando Regional :)

Sweet robot, and those LEDs :yikes: can you provide some details on your setup?

we used 6 CIMs, 3 toughboxes for our drive train, 2 for sides and 1 for middle. For intake we used 2 window motors and connected them to 6" hi grip wheels with proper hubs. For our lifting mechanism we used 4 window motors. 2 window motors are connected to a pipe and other 2 to another pipe, those 2 pipes are connected to each other with special 3d printed pulleys and belt. 4 windows did great job on preventing backdriving. Lastly, for LEDs we used plastic covers on LED strips. Also we used pistons for our gripper and intake :)

How are the LEDs controlled? Did you write your own software or are those preprogrammed sequences from a controller?

This looks awesome, love the LEDs!

You may want to consider pulling a couple cims out of the drive and into the elevator. From what I could see, you were running it rather slowly.
Insane LEDs, like actually insane, and a very consistent loader. Nice.

well we tried using CIMs in elevator but 1 CIM for slide drive was not enough to slide freely, the CIM in slide drive was incredibly hot after a few trials, then we decided to use 4 window motors :) thank you for your compliments :)

the LEDs have a pattern and it does this pattern repeatedly, we are not able to change the pattern with a controller.

You could probably swap out a cim for a mini cim in the slide without any noticeable performance loss. Alternatively, you could just use a couple mini cims in the elevator.

well, that would be great, but we only have 2 mini CIMs in our lab :( Also this was the first year that we tried slide drive :)
