Yikes, just a few more days until the inaugural Waterbury District Event kicks off at Wilby High School (460 Bucks Hill Road, Waterbury, CT). The Brass City couldn't be more excited for the arrival of FRC on February 28th and March 1st.

The Planning Committee has been working hard to put on an incredible experience for teams and they can't wait for the event to start!

Make sure to read the Team Welcome Packet (http://www.nefirst.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/2015-Waterbury-District-Event-Team-Info-3.pdf), as well as its update (http://www.nefirst.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/CTWAT-TEAM-UPDATE-1.pdf) for all the information for the event you'll need.

Also make sure to follow us on Twitter (@WtbyDistrict) and to be tweeting all weekend using #omgrobots.

We are looking forward to a great event!

Is anyone streaming this event?

Have we stretched the hashtag #omgrobots to the saturation point? Doesn't each event deserve its own?

Best of luck to all participating at Waterbury and don't pick up your batteries by their wires!

What a great venue, Waterbury is such a classic New England mill town on a river.

A terrific place to begin our season.
Lots of veterans and a couple of rookies.

3,2,1,,,,Rush!

Very excited to see how small a half field really gets with everyone moving about getting totes & RC's

I've never heard this city described quite so... umm...elegantly. lol
But yay for being on a river!

The competition seems pretty good today as well. :]

What a great competition.
Veterans strutting and Rookies striving.

Congratulations to 236 TechnoTicks, 230 GaelHawks, and especially 3464 SimCity on their District Championship.

A terrific set of Finals matches against 237 Black Magic, 558 RoboSquad, and 4557 FullMetal Falcons who took it to three with noodles!

After watching webcasts on Friday, I was worried that Recycle Rush would be a bust. The caliber of the teams and the audience in Waterbury dispelled that notion.
If you view the competition with a fair perspective and respect the change that the GDC has brought to the game (Dallas and the requisite week one referee issues notwithstanding), it IS an exciting competition.

A huge debt of gratitude goes out to 3525 Nuts & Bolts of Fury, for hosting this event.
They pulled off a classic New England Regional replete with snow and icy downhill grades. I hope everyone made it home safely, if not slowly.

Made it home safe but have to admit going down some of the hills with a loaded trailer was almost as exciting as the finals

Anyone have video of the elims, particularly the finals? Eager to see them... sounds like they'd be some intense, high-scoring matches!

A big thank you to the participating teams and volunteers who supported our decision to change the schedule to accommodate the snowstorm this weekend! I hope you all got home safely!
