Event schedules are starting to be posted on TBA. What matches look promising? An interesting aspect of this year is now that alliances are not directly competing against each other, matchups such as "254/973 vs 1114/2056" won't be about how each alliance fares against the one opposite it, but instead how each can perform on their own, changing which matches will be the most entertaining to watch (that is, until eliminations) compared to previous years.

Here's the 2015 Dallas Regional Qualification Match Schedule (http://www.thebluealliance.com/event/2015txda). There are a few awesome matchups (Match 50, 63, others), but I'm most looking forward to Match 80, where 118 and 148 are on the same alliance.

One of the things that will be most interesting is when the RCs are taken from the step. For example, if the matchup previously mentioned by Andrew actually occurred, then one alliance could take the RCs from the step thus decreasing the max score possible for the other, therefore, decreasing the teams average score. Even though you are not concerned with W/L this year, you can still effect the other alliances score by decreasing what they can max, especially with the RCs on the step.

You beat me to it:D

Definitely match 80. I really want to see some Indy matches tomorrow specifically those with 868, 234, 1024, and others so I can start seeing our competition here in Indiana.

Since we are focusing on Dallas so far, I'll throw one in for Northern Lights: Match 9, with Team RUSH and The Fighting Calculators both on the field.

Also, does anyone know if 148 got the tether to pass inspection or not?

Though, watching practice matches (dying to know if they are representative of the average), 5172 will also be quite a team to watch out for.

Qual 30 in Dallas might be the best alliance top to bottom. 118, 1477, and 2848.

2848 will pull all 4 cans from the step and be able to cap stacks of 6.
118 and 1477 just have to pull totes form the feeder station as fast as they can. We might see 6 capped stacks if they are all running really well. More likely 4-5.

If this match was later in the day or Saturday morning, I'd say this would be the high score for all of Week 1 but the 118, 148 match might be them depending on how dominant 148 really is.

1296 passed inspection with their tethered bots so no reason to not assume that 148 didn't!

Wait, we have a tethered robot?

Yes, they passed inspection. The only issue either of us faced was the transport config, which was not hard.

The inspectors did not seem to care too much about the integrity of the tether.

I'm looking forward to the first rattle out of the hat in Dallas. 5 of the 6 bots have regional wins under their belts.

I've been curious what 3310 was capable of ever since Paul's teaser reveal post. 57 always has a solid machine that usually goes deep into eliminations. 624 is usually a regional finalist/winner type machine and based on their reveal video I don't see that changing this year. 3481 has historically been an bot that has made it in the elimination rounds and been part of a regional winning alliance. 3802 has been on a regional winning alliance in the past. It should be a heck of a way to start the day.

That's interesting. I would have been assumed the tether would have been a critical part of their inspection.

It's too bad you guys don't play with 148 in any of your matches. Would have been entertaining to see what two tethers did :D

Good luck!

Look out for match 85 in Dallas with 987, 624 and 2468! Depending on how complementary their bots are I could see a finals matchup of 987/624/? vs 148/118/?
