Introducing our 2015 robot - Scorpion. #TeamDoubleStacker

Is that a double stacker or 2 robots just next to each other?

That's.....one robot......

Do you turn it on its side to qualify for transport config

That is.....impressive....

Greater Toronto Central is going to be a great regional to watch this week!

Canada is such an amazing region for robotics.

Very neat! Geometry might mess up landfill collecting a little, but it could work out amazingly well at the same time.

To the contrary, to me this looks specifically designed around the landfill, and picking up totes which lie next to each other in the same orientation symeltaneously.

Absolutely brilliant design. Mind sharing how transport configuration works? And does it have a twin on 1285?

If they are already carrying a 6-stack on one side, then they may be able to approach totes only from the right or from the left. Such a scenario is pretty unlikely, I will admit.
On second review, the intake should actually still work in that scenario because the totes are stacked internal to the bot. So never mind then. :)

As a side note, this robot appears to have a lot of hidden functions and good things here and there (like that shiny spool at the top of the elevator).

Very, very cool design. Definitely one that fans around the world will turn on a webcast for. But, I think we need to see some specs first. Weight? Height? transport? etc

In my mind, this is just as unique as any robot we see this year, tethered or otherwise. What I am curious about is how it feels to drive that robot. It's quite long, might make for some cumbersome maneuvers. Drivers will be/are probably quite trained though, so likely no worries. :D

I'm not even going to pretend to know what's going on here. But I can't wait to see how it all works. Looks amazing! What are the polycarb hooks ontop doing?

Constant force springs.

I feel like this would be a lot easier to drive if it had mecanum wheels

Probably stack stabilizers.

Building two stacks at a time in the landfill... 610 cannot wait to play with this robot. #leaveNoStackUncapped

The amount of room this will take up in the pits.....as if a pit wasn't small enough...

Looks amazing, can't wait to see it in action!

And I thought 148 would be a pain in the pit.

Stellar design. What's the parallelogram arm in the back for? The tote stabilizers are really cool, can't wait to see it in action.

I like that you still managed to fit a 4-bar on the back. It's like a Swiss-Army Knife Tank.

Seems like the back 4/6 bar is held in place by push pins which must mean it is removed for transport configuration. Also, why are those drive shafts for the wheels longer than the wheels, never seen this type of WCD before. Great work as always 1241! Will definitely be watching live streams.
