I overheard a discussion in the pits this morning about someone who had a huntsman spider, the size of her hand, on her car windscreen this morning. Scary, but harmless thankfully!

A lot of intense looking robots have been previewed. This ought to be a fun regional to watch

It would be interesting to see how the wild life in Australia effects the safety culture of teams.
It would be even more interesting if a packet of Tim-Tams showed up on my desk though...

Wanted to say fantastic livestream so far (production quality is top notch, and it's on YouTube so bonus points)!

Amazing to see another international regional, and for so many rookies to be playing. Must be a fantastic experience for them and everyone involved.

Another awesome example of how great wildcards are. Both the #1 and #2 seeded alliances put up an epic fight through the finals, with Team 359's alliance #2 coming out on top after three intense matches. However, since 359 generates a wildcard, 4613, the captain of the #1 alliance, gets to go to St. Louis as well, and with an robot as amazing as their's, they definitely deserve to.

Also, fantastic webcast quality. Great job.

I think this may be the first regional ever won by representatives of 3 different countries (US, China, Taiwan). If not I am really sure it is the first one won by representatives of 3 different countries and none are from the country the regional is in

Whoever coordinated this quality stream needs to be in charge of all streams everywhere.

AARNet (Australia's Academic and Research Network) was proud to provide this live stream in partnership with Google Down Under. FIRST Australia did a spectacular job of organising a local Australian production company to provide the video for this stream.

Well done to all teams competing - what a fantastic event.

While those animals are dangerous, the number of bites are relatively low.

Redbacks are so common we don't even bat an eyelid. Indeed there is even a song about people getting bitten on the backside https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjDAiq2-xeU

There was even a team named after another dangerous animal 'The Drop Bears #4774' at the regional comp.

The 2014 New York City regional winners: 4039 (Canada), 334 (United States), and 1884 (United Kingdom)

Especially if they oppose each other in the playoffs, and race to see who can be the first to grab the two bins on the step in the middle! 610 will be there too with their multi-bin grabber, could be a precursor to the center-bin-battles at Nationals.
