Around 7:39:00 in the recorded stream from today, Practice match 30, 2056 plays.
Again around 7:58, Practice match 32 (They build a capped 6 stack, and a capped and littered 3 stack).
Reasonably strong, but not nearly the stratospheric solo performance of 1114.
In another match they got 2 capped six stacks, with extra time for experimentation with getting totes from human player and coopertition.
Also looks like they have some kind of hooks in the back for a 2 RC auto.

From what I heard, they're actually suction cups.

2056 is looking really good... can't wait for tomorrow for some qual matches.
It seems that the feeder ramp isn't connected to the robot.
How is that legal?

Also 4:00:00 is one of their best practice matches, best camera angle too.

Practice matches.
What up with constantly comparing great teams to other great teams? To me I watch 2056 and see great potential to do something similar as 1114. They might not look as good in their first practice match but I see no reason to say they aren't near 1114. Maybe I see something different?

Its very common in any sport to compare someone good to what others consider "the best".
I agree that its a shame that a lot of the time people or teams who are great are overshadowed by "the best".
I always look at it by how close that team is to "the best" and not how far away they are from them.

2056 Looks to be comfortably in the 118/987/148 tier of teams. I expect continued improvement. If they do in fact have a 2 RC Autonomous, I think you can expect the overall high score to fall in Waterloo. 2056/1114 are capable of 6 Capped 6 stacks, without any help from a third alliance partner, and discounting any improvement 2056 makes through this regional and whatever improvements they each make before Waterloo.

1114 and 2056 are arguably (but not really) the two biggest names in Canada and among the best in all of FRC. Makes a lot of sense to compare the two. You are right however, it is far too early too be making any major judgments.

1114 and 2056 are both great, but 1114 or any robot for that matter that is being mentioned as the best this year are capped at 3 stacks or 6 with a can unless they get a great can grabber for auto.
But back on track with the thread.

They do have an auto can grabber, we just haven't seen very much of it. In Finals 2, they created essentially 4 full stacks (if you include the one they dumped).
By alternating from landfill to feeder between each stack, I bet they will find a way to do 4 stacks somewhat comfortably in a match.

In the video you seen, is it one of the fastest or are there a handful that our faster? (I somewhat remember seeing it but don't remember it being super quick)

Perhaps this can better answer your question:
I don't know if you've seen this already, but it looks like they tried out their BinSwiper already (GTRC Quals 57): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7-NigYFrWo
It looks like their first 2 bins are captured at about 2 seconds (better speed it up 1114 ;), the "chokehold" number seems to be 1/4 sec!) and they have the other 2 at ~12 sec.
*For some reason, Q57 isn't on WFN, so we just have this video of their 4 bin auto... until Waterloo?
I'm sure it will be even better by champs...

Im sure it will be much better too, should be a lot of fun finding out who has the bin grabbers in their division and then seeing who makes them :D

The biggest names? Yes. Are there other good teams? For sure. Look at 4476, two stellar first years. They may not have robots as good as 1114 and 2056, but they have a fantastic strategy for every match that in my opinion makes them rank pretty close to the two. 1114 and 2056 are just the best well known teams.

378 participated at GTRE with 2056, 2852, and, 3710 - the winning alliance. We were the #2 pick of the #8 seed which put us on the field the same time as the #1 alliance. When I looked at their side after the first round, I saw 6 containers on 6 stacks with at least 2 six stacks. The only reason they didn't have 7 is because we took one before 3710 could grab it. They didn't even do their 3 tote auto stack in the simis/finals. I can't imagine a better alliance than this one other then one that grabs 2+ middle containers in auto and does the same stacks. The only way to stop them is to deny them the 4 center containers and be able to use them. A handful of teams could grab the at least one center container, but could not make effective use of them in 2:15. I'm surprised there isn't more video and chatter on 2056 and this alliance. I think 2056 set a new high score in one of the qual rounds with 202 which was awesome to watch. They were amazing and 2852 was up there as well!! Everyone could have predicted the winner early Friday.
Canada has many excellent robots - we won a 2014 off season event with 610 and 1241 in Rochester, NY.
