View Full Version : [NE FIRST] 2015 Hartford District Event
Might as well get the ball rolling. NE FIRST's final district event is almost upon us and I, for one, am excited. Information can be found here (http://www.nefirst.org/portfolio/ct-hartford/)
Be on the lookout for my hat!

Happy to see the Grasshoppers have returned.
We had a great day setting up and practicing. We'll see how it plays out.
Many veterans with 15+ years on their resumes.
Oh yeah, snow, yes snow, tomorrow. 2 - 3" Hah! It didn't stop us during the build and it won't stop us now.
Seriously with the snow already..... Didn't stop us during build, didn't slow us down at Waterbury, sure won't slow us down tomorrow!!

Day Two.
We'll see how good the scouting is.
Great production of the events and the webcasts in New England this year.

Terrific event, great venue, good people.
Congratulations to the winners: CyberKnights 195 and GaelHawks 230. Two classic teams that each won the DCA this year, which shows how a well rounded program can lead to better Robots.
The great story here is The Panther Project 2064, who, in their 9th year, finally won a competition with a beautiful Robot, playing their role exceedingly well. They punched their ticket to the District Championship. CyberHawk Project!
The finalists of Apple Pi 2067, Titanium Tomahawks 2170, and Sim City 3464 (Titanium Pi City!), did their best, but the cycle times of the winners were just a little bit shorter.
2170 really crossed a threshold in Hartford. Some minor modifications in tote loading with their slipper slide made all of the difference and they have rightfully qualified for the NEDCMP.
3464 is on the bubble. It is interesting how being the 3rd pick on a winning and finalist alliance has marginal value in a district. (Have you seen the algorithm? (http://www.usfirst.org/sites/default/files/uploadedFiles/Robotics_Programs/FRC/Game_and_Season__Info/2015/FRC_District_Standard_Points_Ranking_System_2015%2 0Summary.pdf))
The teams really brought the party and made this event pop. Special thanks for this goes to the Uberbots 1124, Tech Tigers 3654, Birds of Prey 181 (this was their house!), Athena's Warriors 3182 (best hats!), and Titanium Tomahawks 2170 (Best new Mascot uniform ever!)

Thank you Hartford planning committee for an outstanding event. So well run!
The CyberKnights 195 wish to thank their awesome alliance the GaelHawks Team 230 and The Panther Project Team 2064 (their first banner!) It was awesome stacking with you both!
Our hats are off to the finalists Apple Pi 2067, Titanium Tomahawks 2170, and Sim City 3464. You guys were amazing and we look forward to seeing you all at DCMP!!!
A special congrats to Team 230 who consistently rake in those banners over the past several years with such grace and good sportsmanship. 195 is in awe of your team's accomplishments and we congratulate you on your Chairmans Award AND your 4 banner season...and counting? :)
Looking forward to seeing everyone at WPI!
Sandra,
Thank you so much for the kind words. We owe the vast majority of our success to the teams that have graciously put their faith in us, and we hope that we can live up to the high standard set by teams like 195 and be there for others the way that you guys have always been there for us.
It is a privilege to be a part of the FIRST community, and we can't wait to see our friends again in Worcester, and hopefully St. Louis.
Sincerely,
Steve Spoldi, Team 230
