Just wanted to share some video of a relatively rare event that happened at Finger Lakes Regional week 5. Team captain 1126, 1507, and 3838 pulled off a 28 point autonomous 3 times. All 3 teams had to make code changes between quarter final matches to get everything to fit without running into one another.

I've not seen this in the competitions I've attended or any of the video I've watched. If you have some other examples, I'd love to see them.

Check out some of the stuff 2512 did in Central Illinois regional, consistent 32 point autonomous routines in the finals. Very impressive. I can't find any video at the moment, but I know that there is some.

After autonomous, is there a reason why they pushed the yellow-stack onto the scoring platform, or was that their method of getting it out of the way?

Check out 2826 as well. They were close to getting 28 each time but I think they got it in at least 1 quals match (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ8-RCz-s5M). I'm sure they'll get it consistent at North Star.

Here is a link to a match where we had a 32 point auto at the Central Illinois Regional.

You should check out 2054, The Tech Vikes. They can do a 28 point auto by themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nswQ-hb73n0

We just put the stack on the platform to make room to manuever.

Those were some very fun elimination matches to play. It's a shame though one mediocre match kept us out of the finals but still a successful regional in my mind. can't wait until next year!

I am not on the team any longer since I graduateda couple years ago, but my observation would be that the reason was probably 2-fold, first; like you said to get the totes out of the way, but the other reason may have been to allow the alliance captain (1126) to more easily reach the feeder station that they chose to work from.

So are those pool noodles hooked to the can already then you just reel them in

The noodles support a hook which is underneath the lip of the can. Then with some very clever timing and lots of trial and error programming, window motors reel them in.

Overall, I think that the autonomous scores were very low. I attribute this to not scoring the accomplishments high enough. If a tote stack were 40, and a container set were 20 points, teams would have invested more time in autonomous. Last year a three ball auto was 75 points. (if all hot, and all robots moved into the zone) over twice the value of this years scoring.

It doesn't make any sense to compare absolute point values from year-to-year. It's like saying basketball players are 100 times better than soccer players because average basketball scores are around 100 and average soccer scores are around 1.

So is the hook already engaged or just with the clever timing it becomes engaged

The hook just kinda sits there, kept upright with the noodle, then it gets pulled up into the lip of the can when it is reeled in.

Our alliance scored a 32 point auto once at CVR, but with only 2 bots on the field (one of those weird twists of this year's game). I think this is the match; it was in the QFs or SFs:

Us and 4678 scored 28 points many times during North Bay eliminations.

Here's an example:

We had to write a 1 container auto over lunch just for them, we were used to running our 3 tote.

We also scored the 3 tote 3 container solo once during week 2:

2826 dialed it in for North Star. We put up 28 pts in every qualifying match.
