As the competition season comes to a close, it's time to start compiling the Final Top 25 of the 2015 Season.

Voting is open right now at www.frctop25.com/vote

Please remember that ALL TEAMS are eligible. Those coveted Robot Stickers that Mike and I will be handing out at Championship will be based on this list so choose wisely!

A quick reminder that Mike and I carefully check every ballot. Please keep in mind that you cannot vote for a team you are affiliated with, check your ballot for duplicates and correct team numbers.

Our Final Top 25 Rankings show will be on Friday, April 17th at 9PM EST. During this show we will Recap the District Championships, Preview some Divisions and count down the final top 25 of the season! Call your friends, order a pizza, and make it a party!

Lastly, From Mike and I we just want to say Thank You for the support the FRC community has given us all season long. Our new format has allowed us to double the exposure for teams and we are very excited about that fact. Thank You and we'll see you next Friday!

I'm going to encourage people to vote for the best robots regardless where they play, region locking does not start until 2017...

Well, if you look at max single event opr, team 2122 is in 9th, just barely ahead of 1806.

OPR gives a good idea, but it's only reliable within a single event... still shows the picture

Additionally, OPR really only rates high scoring stackers well. Can burglars seem to be left in the dark in terms of OPR cause their talent doesn't get taken into account until primarily elimination matches (which usually doesn't get into OPR).

Well yeah, it's not CBPR. It's an estimate of how many points your robot can score in a match, it's not designed to include the potential points burglarizing cans creates (nor is that measurable). That's what good event scouting is for :)

OPR gives a good idea, but it's only reliable within a single event... still shows the picture

I'm not saying OPR's perfect ('cause it's not!), but the whole point of OPR is to have a generalized statistic that indicates how many points certain teams score 'across events... and it actually seems to do a pretty darn good job. That said, easy ways to get a low OPR (perhaps unrepresentative of potential?) are by having a niche role-playing robot that is dependent on partners, having inconsistent performance through an event, or by scoring in such a way that partners can't contribute as they typically would.

From 1519's perspective this year, it's been nearly spot on for our point scoring (if you only give co-op about 20pts instead of 40) if you compare it to going back and scouting matches (after each event we do a comprehensive point and time analysis based on video of our matches).

Now QA's are really only meaningful within an event... for example, DCMP QA's are solidly inflated compared to Regional or District events.
