Hi all,

My team is so excited to be attending World Championships for the first time since the team started in 2009! (We were lucky enough to be chosen from the waitlist).

I am looking forward to attending several of the conference workshops. I am unclear as to whether it is necessary to register or sign up for individual sessions. Nothing on the website says that you do, and I can't find any registration links, so I am thinking "no", but I've been told by some people that you do.

So... can anyone tell me, do we need to register for the workshops? And if so, where?

Thanks!

Same question. I remember needing/having the option to last year but I have not been able to find anything online.

Although I am not certain what is/will occur this year, last year I attended 1902's Marketing conference without having to sign up in advance. I would imagine it is the same this year, but I am not 100% sure.

Yes, the people who told me "yes" said they had to sign up last year or in other years past.

However, I haven't seen any way to do so which makes me think that it is different now.

The fact that so many other people are asking the same question at least makes me feel better that it's not something obvious that I missed!

According to information that Bacon recieved via email (regarding our imagery presentation) all conferences will be open to the public and will not require any pre-registration.

I would still keep an eye out on the relevant website (http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/firstplace/workshops-and-conferences) and maybe shoot an email to Hannah Foust (hfaust@usfirst.org) at HQ just to be sure.

Also as a side note: Exploding Bacon will be bringing their updated presentation (the Big Bacon Theory of Imaging and Marketing) back to Championships this year. Stop by room 230 Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM. We know it's early, but together (and with enough caffine) we'll make it through.

Thanks James, I've sent an email to Hannah to ask for clarification. I'll post here to update everyone when I find out.

By the way, I'm told the Big Bacon Theory presentation is a must-see from our lead mentor who has sat in it before. Hope to see you there.

Hannah is no longer the contact person, since she has moved on to another job, so team support might be a better contact to use.

Might explain why the email bounced :p

Email sent to frcteams.

Edit: got a response. "All of the conferences are drop in. We look forward to see you there."

See you all there next week!
