The weather in Houston is very erratic and unpredictable because of the Gulf Coast winds. One week it will be flash flooding every day and the next week it will be completely dry. I could see how this could be a problem for the FRC competition (especially since it involves very fragile robots with expensive electronic equipment).

The heavy rain at this time is somewhat unusual and unexpected. And Houston area weather is somewhat bipolar anyway, as MrGoldtech said.
If you think rain is going to be a problem, remember the 2012 Championships, which were in St. Louis. While rain is my favorite weather, I would think many people considered the weather then pretty dangerous, yet we have Champs there anyway again.

I still don't like how there is going to be 2 championship events, this means we won't get to see all the amazing teams :(

Hi, I hope it would not happen in Houston or any other place. Anyway, maybe its just a prediction and it can change anytime. Let us just believe that nothing severe flooding will happen. Prayers will be needed the most for such a calamity in the near future. Miracles happen each day. Just think positive:)
In 2001 there was a thunderstorm so bad there was rivers of water running in the aisle of the pits. Bad weather can happen anywhere.
