View Full Version : Volunteer Roll Call
If you are in St. Louis as a volunteer what and =where are you assigned?
I am lead que on the Tesla field and I am co-overall que supervisor. I divided my assignment with Dave Ferreria so I have to watch over Archimedes, Curie and Carver. I am also co lead que on Einstein. I will also be helping to assemble the fields on Tuesday.
Helping orient the Info booth people to all things FIRST.
And checking in with the 17 FRC/FTC/FLL/Jr.FLL teams representing Maryland.
And helping facilitate the NEMO meeting (with Kathie) on Fri from 10-12 in Rm 255
Referee - won't find out field assignment until the referee breakfast on Thursday. (Could be any field except Curie, where my team is playing.)

I am a robot inspector. We take our orders from Big Al, and go wherever we are assigned. Those of us who also mentor teams often try to stay in the same division. Won't know more until tomorrow afternoon.

Working in the Media Center at the EJD and Union Station for FTC.
If you have the chance, stop by at Union Station to support FTC.
There should be free shuttle busses from the Dome.
The venue is very cool and better than the corner of the dome floor that they have been relegated to in the past, but I worry that they will become orphans out there.
Also consider visiting the FLL competition next to the FRC pits in the America's Center.
FLL is a truly international competition and they exhibit the team spirit that carries through to FTC and FRC programs.
Teams from Australia, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Illinois, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, Netherland, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Phillipines, Korean, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, and Wisconsin.
Great photo opportunities.
Also doing Einstein crowd control. It will be more strict this year. Only official media will be allowed. No team media.
It's will be interesting with the 50% increase in participants this year. I hope the video screens will provide a good view of the action on the fields.

I always thought your role was Phantom of the Jones Dome by spending all day hanging out near the roof of the place.

Wed/Thur is going to be a mix of wandering around pits and helping my team. I figure I should at least pretend to be a mentor for one event this season. Judging again the rest of the event.
